Ive now counted 11 pms in the last week about this topic--Please
take note:

1.) ANY AND ALL BANK ACCOUNTS-- Checking/Savings Accounts-- MUST BE IN YOUR REAL NAME! PERIOD.

>> With the PATRIOT ACT--You MUST USE YOUR REAL NAME!

>> There is NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS. PERIOD.

>>> The BANK Acct "NAMES" ARE NOT SEEN by Ebay or Paypal. Period, (In the USA).

ONCE AGAIN-- If you try to open a bank acct in "Another name"--it will FAIL...

The Account Name--MUST MATCH your i.d. / your address as on file with the Credit Bureau, etc..

> Some banks run a Hard pull Credit report-- Some do a soft pull...
Others just check the 'Check Systems" verification..

>> "IF" you cannot pass the checksystems--then have your MOM, Uncle, Aunt open the acct for you-- AGAIN--in the USA--the Name on the account does NOT matter for now....
>> SO-- Go ahead and try this step again-- this time-- go ahead and open the Checking or savings accts or BOTH--at your local bank---(or online if you do not drive)--

NOW-- after its opened-- USE IT---it works!

FURTHER examples:

a.) Sally JOnes lives at 123 main street NY NY 10012-- she was Suspended,
b.) Sally had a checking acct at Bank of America --acct# 123-456-789--it was NEVER used on ebay or paypal..

c.) Sally Jones , (now Sally Smith--moved-she now lives at 456 Copper st NY NY 10012--

d.) Can she use that OLD Bank acct---YES

NOW-- Lets say Sally JONES ALREADY used that acct with either ebay or Paypal --
WHAT CAN SHE DO NOW?

a.) She can go to Bank of America-- open ANOTHER checking acct-- Or another savings acct--AND REGISTER with BOA AT:
123 Main St NY NY 10012-- + STILL USE IT FOR HER
MARRIED NAME---Sally Smith at COPPER STEET--it will STILL WORK!!!

NOW- what if Sally SMITH--never cleared her ip addy??

Then, Sally JOnes can go to First National Bank, open a NEW acct--
and ALLOW her NEW Married Name--

Susan Sally THOMAS to use it---it works!

Well- What if Sally Jones lost her i.d. or her Ex-husband wrote bad checks last month + the banks will nto allow her to open another acct?

WELL__ then Sallys aunt MABLE, MABLE JONES will open the acct-- and allow SUSAN S Thomas to use it--IT WORKS!
>> KEY: The BANK ACCT MUST BE IN THE REAL NAME--WITH THE LEGIT I.D.
OPEN a checking or Savings acct

The same Applies for the UK & Australia
 

FYI any users in either the UK or Australia must also make sure that bank
accounts are in legal names. Make sure that you have enough identification
to get an account opened.
In the UK, in some instances, it will be better to go into a bank, and make the
account there. ONE point is to make sure to open an account that will allow
DirectDebit: if no DD no paypal. It is up to YOU to make sure that you set up the correct bank account. Do not be scared to phone the customer service of a bank for assistance.
In Australia, unless you are an existing bank customer, you also need to go to
a bank. There are accounts that can be set up online BUT the bank still wants
to see your documents.

So as I understand this, open an account with a real name and address... then change the address after the account is updated?

Ebay can see the address on the bank account?

1) What type of account are you talking about?

2) Ebay or paypal cannot see the name or address of bank account. Only thing they see is the name of the bank and account and routing number.

If the name and address can't be seen by ebay/paypal then why was it necessary in the first post for "Sally" to use the various combination of names of her married/maiden, etc. names and the different addresses? Perhaps I'm not reading the post carefully enough, but I'm trying people, I'm really trying here.
I got my new PayPal account up today, new ebay id, and opened a new checking account at my bank, same name, different account numbers. So it will be okay to link up that new checking account with my new PayPal account, so I can transfer funds from PayPal into the new account so I can access the funds. I'm not going to be able to get a debit card for the new PP account, since that PP account isn't in my name, so I'm assuming this will be the only way I can get to those funds?

Just make sure you have same names on paypal and ebay.
Can be anything, but people like to use similar names I.E if my name was Alex Smith i would use

a.) I use so many "extra Precautions"--as I am a really Paranoid person..
(I had a stalker last year--that ended up being the man who got be booted from ebay)--
SO--I go overboard on CAUTION..

For "BANK ACCOUNTS ONLY"--i.e. checking or savings--there is no change.

Ok, so I'm registered and verifying my bank account but it says:

Please make sure that the name associated with your PayPal account exactly matches the name on your bank account statement. Otherwise, transfers to and from your PayPal account will not go through, and a return fee will be charged.

It says this at the withdrawal page. Is this not true then? The name in Paypal is ⊗⊗⊗⊗ and the name on my bank account is real of course.

uuuuuuuh, My ex-husband cannot get his money out of PayPal because he uses the nickname of Pete on PayPal & his real name, which is on the bank account, is Neil David.
Everything else the same, address, telephone number , city , state, ect. So he faxed then EVERYTHING they asked him to.... twice.. and he STILL cannot withdraw his money. all $250.00!!!!! And he has been a member for 6 years with a TON of money going thru.... sells and buys cars. Now what the heck is THIS all about????

I'm new to the forum, and my english is (I assume) BAD. I'm from Canada (Quebec) and I have been banned from ebay since few days.
I'm just wondering if Paypal do not verify Name and adresses of Bank Acc owner in the USA only, or it's the same thing in Canada too?
I tried to find the information in the forum but i didn't find anything.

It tends to be that all they check is the account number is correct.

I actually called my bank and told them I made a Paypal account and accidentally spelt my name wrong lol and I was worried I wouldn't get the money.

Their reply? Don't worry, we only use the Account number to send you money.

Just the answer I wanted to hear. :-)

And I am not in the USA.

It sounds great :P But as I'm a paranoid person, I think I'll do the same thing you did : Call my bank, and ask the same "question" you asked.

I just Called NBC (National Bank of Canada) and the customer service wasn't able to give me a valid answer to my question :confused: She suggest me to ask this to PP :D
So if some one can help, it will be very appreciated, I'd like to know how do the canadians do to use a bank Acct with their ⊗⊗⊗⊗ PP Account?:confused:

Anyone know if Paypal bans METABANK account #'s?

you can try to transfer little money into your bank a/c with a fault name , and wait to see if the money is return or pass.
My money transfer is passed even I use really ridicious account name, so I think the name policy might be various from bank to bank, the best way is try transfer a little money by yourself.

i bank @ united local credit union bank and i used this bank account with ebay and pay pal, and got suspended. can i go and open up another account there with my same name and use the new account to get verified on paypal

Did they suspend you for using that bank?

If you can not add your FLAG to your account then no one can give you valid answers.
The banks in Australia wont work on US Paypal accounts.
The banks in Russia wont work in Australian Paypal accounts.

i am in the US ,and i got my credit union bank verified to paypal and then they suspended me.can i get another account from the same bank, to get verified again through paypal after being suspended . or do i nedd to get a virtual credit card? also do i use my real name after being suspended? some one please help.......

Will they know the location of the bank? i.e. eastern california.... some banks are only in certain areas, so be careful if your cousin lives in new mexico and the bank your using doesn't have a branch there.... my bank warned me about paypal.

At the risk of having you hit your head again, I went to my PP account and started to make a withdrawal to my bank acct. Here is what I saw on the final page before clicking "Submit" (names and numbers changed to protect the guilty.)

Now it's quite possible I supplied my real name willingly in association with the bank account when I set up this PP acct. way back when. I don't remember if PP asked for a name, if it was a requirement, or if it just filled in the name I gave for my PP account. Greenbean may be right, but PP makes it look like they see the name on the bank account.

Goode, well picked up: yes, once the paypal account is created, verified and used, whenever a field is used that needs a name, it will be the name that was first on the paypal account. So it look like paypal 'know'.
Another point for you is that there are some banks in the USA that have exchanged info with paypal. This has happened in the past 13 weeks. I am no longer going to say 100% that the routing /account number is all that is taken into account. From looking through this closely, it appears that some paypal accounts that are under close watch have troubles.

i remember reading somewhere on this forum to 'keep your routing number the same and change your account number round'........
surely this does not apply to a new bank account?

No it does not apply in this case.

Paypal can NOT see the name on your bank account. You use your real name & info on your bank account, and use your stealth for Paypal; they do not know otherwise. The bank might get suspicious, but it's not because they can see the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ Paypal name at first glance...they may simply be cautious and decide to investigate.

Paypal assumes the bank account is rightfully yours if you did bank account verification; that's the whole point of it.

Are you saying the bank is doing this or PayPal? If PayPal then that is a good question since they can't see the name on anyone's bank account?? It may therefore be something else.

^^^^. That was the bank giving troubles. From what I recall the bank was located in Mid West USA. There were a number of reports that some banks were making troubles about names & we know that there has been an exchange of info between them & paypal.
Suggest you look at the means to an end list in the subscribers' area or
in the paypal talk forum(here). Inof is fairly current.
