Watchout for this Undercover Operative on eBay!
 

Purchased a high end Printer that came with a copy of Adobe Acrobat.

I listed the Acrobat on eBay, and it was purchased by ebay buyer

"E.d.d.i.e.T.e.a.c.h"

Payment came in fine, shipped out no problem.

Today I receive the infamous letter from Johnson and Pham, threatening lawsuit for Copyright Infringement, etc....

This guy is a big buyer of Adobe and Beachbody workouts (P90X, Insanity, Etc,) and a few other name brand items.

He is listed in the letter as an undercover operative that purchased from me.

Just a heads up for a lot of you.

He has bought 100's of items since he registered his eBay account in Feb.

EVEN IF YOU ARE SELLING GENUINE SOFTWARE they will still try and screw you.

They are mad that I sold the software without the accompanied hardware as stated in their user agreement. IF I never installed the software, and never accepted your license agreement, how can I be bound by it. :typing:

I just sent him message warning him to stop his illegal activities. I doubt eBay will allow such practice. This is why they have VERO. I don't think even eBay is going to like what he does. I am going to report him and so should all of us.

I'm sure he has many more accounts. Come on, who here doesn't have more than 1 account:rolleyes:

I hate Adobe. Although legally you cant sell an OEM without the hardware thats Bs they are doing this. You cant even sell legit retail copies of their software on ebay, the vero will kill the auction.

edit just googled him. i dunno, but you might want to make his name not googleable. like p.u.t. in between his name. Might lead the wrong people here?

why did you sell the acrobat when you know that something like this can happen?

That was NOT smart at all. Their investigator probably got tipped off; he's going to contact Johnson & Pham now and the OP is going to probably have a lawsuit thrown in his face. I'm sure that firm reads these forum posts too.

You think of the 100s of letters they send out they are going to find out which one is mine, yet alone all stealth info, and made up name, have fun with that.

I dont give a crap what any manufacture says, if I purchase the item, I have every right to resell it however I please.

This has been going down for awhile now. As I stated before in my first thread. I was warning people about this person who always sends me a comment asking for my e-mail pretending to be interested in my item but wants me to send more pics of it through E-mail then quickly afterwards my ebay gets shut down. I believe there are lots of big companies that hire people to get rid of us who are selling the same product that they are selling. They underestimate us thats why we are all able to create multiple ebay and paypal account but we also underestimate them and what they can do especially with that huge of a wallet they have.
