moneyhustler88 | 11-08-2012 05:52 AM | Question about 3v cards Hey guys so been trying to look for some 3v cards but my local morrisons and whsmith have stopped stocking them has anyone else had this problem? I also wondered how do the 3v vouchers work? |
GreenBean | 11-08-2012 05:57 AM | Yep, can be a pain in a similar place ,as paypal is, to find.
:pout: |
moneyhustler88 | 11-08-2012 06:02 AM | Aah right yeah just thought I'd ask. Their website is really outdated and useless and searched google eBay couldn't find any .
Am going to go to co op today and pray they got it.
I asked my local morrisons why they stopped stocking them.
They told me 3v stopped their contract with them I was like :s |
Elijah | 11-08-2012 06:27 AM | Try Boots. I live in London and they are in all the big Boots stores in the City and the West End.
The card gives you an activation code on the back and a 6 digit number under some foil. You enter these number sinto the site, add a valid email address and then you are given your card details. |
You can get them from any local shop that has paypoint I think |
Elijah | 11-08-2012 07:23 AM | Ah yes, the voucher. It's in Payzone and not Paypoint shops though. And then good luck finding a shop where they have a clue what you are talking about, lol.
It costs £2 extra, so for a £22 voucher (the minimum value) you get £20 to spend. The card is actually free though as the £25 purchase cost is all yours to spend. |
moneyhustler88 | 11-08-2012 07:38 AM | Well I am just having a hard time trying to get them from nearly anywhere. |
I have a list of all the uk co op shops that are supposed to have them in stock them. |
Oh ar that's it. Yes I got someone to get me a 3v voucher, dopey git got me a 3 top up voucher for 20 quid |

that is correct sax | Other than the Paypoint part... you'll likely waste enough time looking for a Payzone that seems to do it. So you don't want to waste any more time at the wrong store type lol. |
they_screwed_me_too | 11-08-2012 09:01 AM | BTW that is for the electronic version not the card you scratch as Elijah mentionedd
in fact i think there is a list of stockists on the paypoint website
just put your postcode in and it shows you where they are
most co-ops and spars have the paypoint machines |

Elijah | 11-08-2012 09:04 AM | You quoted sax4 and said that he correct. And I was pointing out that he was correct in saying that you can get them at your corner shop, but you can not get it in one that is a Paypoint. It has to be a Payzone. |
they_screwed_me_too | 11-08-2012 09:08 AM | Elijah
3v vouchers are available at paypoint outlets |
Elijah | 11-08-2012 09:17 AM | Ah, it seems I got a bit confused. I got mine from a Payzone last time and none of the Paypoints seemed to do it, so I thought that was the only store type that did it. But yes, it looks like Paypoint are the ones who do it now... Payzone did an older 3v voucher type but the modern one can be had at Paypoint like you say. |
they_screwed_me_too | 11-08-2012 09:18 AM | its cool
when you get confused as much as i do then its time to worry :peace: |

You then go on to the 3v website, enter the voucher number and register email addy and personal details. You are then given the 16 digit card number. Expiry date and cvv number are emailed to you.
The card is virtual to use online. You do not get an actual card.
PS Can't believe Elijah posted something that was factually incorrect. I hope he will have a quiet word with himself in the corner. |
moneyhustler88 | 11-08-2012 09:52 AM | Aah right okay I see..is there a 2 pound charge then still ill have to look and see |
Ropey | 11-08-2012 09:52 AM | Haha @Elijah, totally right! Not one shop has a damn clue what your on about when asking for the vouchers!! |

simple as that :yar: | Maybe not that simple. I've actually found that asking for a £20 voucher confuses most counter staff because "the computer says £22". |

Only bad things about these cards is the expiry is very short. After the expiry date then charge you a fortune to disburse any remaining credit.
But for ease of use they're great. I used to also use Giftcards sold in Whsmith. But they stopped dong em |
