I don't use WAMU so I can't answer you. However, I do have a BoA checking acct. They would not let me open a second. On the other hand it seems Citibank and NFCU will let me open unlimited.

WaMU doesn't let you, HSBC doesn't, ING is the only one I know. trg005 Are you sure Citibank you can open unlimited sub accounts? That would be good for people like us.

Don't know what subaccounts are but when i talked to Wamu customer service she told me i can open as many checking accounts as i like. And the best part is its all online. So no hassle of walking in to a branch and have it set up.

aspkin, There is no Citibank near me so I've opened 3 citibank checking accounts online. They have been very good to me. I have no savings account or cd or anything with them cept cc's. Here is a link ... hope that's ok to post.

One other thing, NFCU is supposed to be easing up on their requirements to join. I really don't know what the changes are but if you can get in with them then do so. Changes take place sometime this summer.

I'll look into NFCU... I just wanted sub accounts because of the worry of multiple bank accounts affecting my credit score... What does everyone else do? Also what do you do with old accounts killed by P* a y P a l/E* b a y?

Get savings accounts then. They have nothing to do with your credit, as Chexsystems isn't run when you open a savings.

I have a checking with BOA as well. They won't let me open a second checking account though.

I thought I saw someone in this forum has 47 ebay account? does that mean he has 47 different bank account? If no bank offers subaccount(second checking account), he must have 47 banks for ebay purpose?! Someone can help?

I never heard of a sub account, but Citibank and BofA told me you can have as many accounts as you want. I called and asked them. I open mine online. I have 3 checking and 3 savings with Bofa. Citi charges a monthly fee. BofA are free.

Just a quick followup--I dont know if its wise to use NFcu for "Our purposes" on here??
They use pretty good anti fraud software--the Credit Unions are under a diff auspicious than the fed banks,
If anything- I think theyre stricter--
Anyhow--for PERSONAL use--Fantastic--but for having possibly paypal send inquiries/ calls of who is john doe? who is john doe smith ?? etc etc---not real good-
I think you'll loose the acct.. and its a great Financial tool for Personal use..

Why is this discussion only restricted to WAMU vs. BOA? The question should be which banks allow unlimited sub accounts with just a couple clicks online? Simple, no?

I have a WF account. Because I am a customer of that bank, I can make new sub accounts on line.
