adding bank to paypal
 

I tried to adding a bank account (citibank) to my paypal.

i see the deposited 0.12 + 0.17 then did a "ELECTRONIC DEBIT" of 29 cents

Will the debit reveal that the names and paypal & the bank dont match?

If so whats the best way to overcome this?

Do the automatic verification things?

This is very badly worded.

You were meant to input the PP deposits in your bank a/c into PP itself to get the PP A/C verified.

i did that

Paypal also toke out 29 cents out of my bank account. Will this enable them to know the bank account holder name & paypal name dont match

I.e. does debit money from your bank account reveal your name?

Re-read what was written. Some editing explains the issue more clearly.

OP had the two deposits added to the account.

Their concern was the chance of a name being detected by this method.

The question was then raised asking

OP is not asking the next steps after the 2 deposits were made, but rather, their safety.

Direct debit will reveal the name due to a receipt that is generated.

Will that affect your account? Time will tell - lot of people have not been affected, some have.

Had one or two accounts where p/p withdrew funds from attached bank accounts via DD and not had any repercussions as a result. Just got lucky I guess.

However I would never rely on this and avoid it at all costs but everybody slips up now and again. If it happens just sit tight, carry on as normal but be prepared to fire up a reserve account if it all goes tom tit.

I could not be sure if the Op meant either they or PP then did a further debit of $29.00 from their bank a/c & its potential implications ???

Hence the nature of my reply.

Is the automatic verification by giving PayPal your bank username password a better option than 2 deposits methods
