The Bidding For Twinkies On Ebay At All Time High *Crazy*

Hostess is closing down. I sold 5 boxes of Twinkes and was shocked that it sold for $405 dollars =) There are people on Ebay selling them for $10,000 dollars O_o Get it on it while you still can folks....

MM78 11-18-2012 01:22 AM

I can't wait for all SNAD's to hit the fan, lol. "Purchased Twinkies and a few were crushed, missing...Want my money back"

unkown5454 11-18-2012 01:58 AM

^^^^ Exactly. Things will go bad quick. But, PP and EB will get their service fees. Sweet Christmas bonus.

MM78 11-18-2012 02:36 AM

NGALO, have more for sale, I could go for some twinkies...and I promise not too file a SNAD!

NGALO1983 11-18-2012 02:56 AM

lol I wish I had more for sale. They are selling like crazy. Ebay sellers are selling them from 1k to 10k for just one box LMAO I aint gonna lie though I actually drove to two supermarket to find some more to sale but they are all sold out :(

AmazonStealth 11-18-2012 03:04 AM

I dont even want to say how many I bought and sold, because people would think I am on crack. Saw the news on a very late/early news show, went out at 4am loading my car with them, gone in 24 hours. Between the twinkies and wii u consoles, I have made more in 48 hours than most people will make in over a year.

AmazonStealth 11-18-2012 03:09 AM

I would also like to add that people are extremely over reactive, and 99% of the time I cash in on people overreaction in the tens and tens of thousands. I bought them all over at 4am, and I went into a dollar store at noon, and found 83 boxes with the expiration date of the announcement, those made bank.

AmazonStealth 11-18-2012 03:11 AM

Do people realize the hostess brand and all those twinkies arent going anywhere? They are going to be bought, guarantee it.

NGALO1983 11-18-2012 03:32 AM

I agree. Its not going anywhere but might as well cash in on it while it heres. Good job for you stalking up on it. I made a good amount too. Who would ever think Twinkies would sell like drugs on the street lol

jeffweico 11-18-2012 07:39 AM

Twinkies, Wonder Bread, Ding-Dongs, Ho-Ho's, etc, WILL BE AROUND FOREVER!

Hostess can go bankrupt, and production may even stop for a short time.

But SOMEBODY will buy the brand names, they are WAY TOO VALUABLE to simply fade away.

The Hosetss bankruptcy stems from internal company problems, NOT because the brands became unpopular. Some of their lesser known regional products may go away, but the stuff you know and love IS ONLY GOING ON VACATION FOR A FEW WEEKS!

But if any of you need THERAPY to get through this, my rate is $120 per hour.

oh that's for sure. when the mets threw their first no hitter i sold 2 ticket stubs from the game that night for $200 each in about 4 hours after the game was over! one week later, the mets reproduced every ticket from the game for $75. pretty sick if you think about it

I'm guilty of being one of these kinda customers but I was right. I bought 3 cases of redbull cola on ebay for $300 but those are the last 3 cases I will ever see of that stuff. RIP redbull cola

rsot 11-19-2012 12:47 PM

When I was back in school I would profit from this craze - but yes all the best.

Ha AmazonStealth - selling Wii Us and Hostesses from the trunk of your car - a game and a snack madam?

Nice find MM78 but when you are purchasing a discontinued food/drink product, you only have a short window of time to consume them before they suck. Red Bull Cola has been discontinued for 8 months now so I bet those taste like aluminum cola at this point.

I knew I would still be able to find them on ebay from time to time just not to consume. You can still find new coke, pepsi clear, blue pepsi, pepsi jazz, and surge on ebay from time to time. I shall not be purchasing those for consumption.

Pabst Owner Metropoulos Considers Bid for Hostess Brands

C. Dean Metropoulos & Co., the private equity firm that owns Pabst Brewing Co., is considering an offer to buy Hostess Brands Inc., which said today it plans to liquidate its business.

“Our family would love to purchase these iconic brands,” said Daren Metropoulos, a principal at the Greenwich, Connecticut-based firm, which paid $250 million for Pabst in 2010. “We are actively pursuing this deal as no doubt strategics will also.”

C. Dean Metropoulos, founder of the firm, has specialized in purchasing struggling brands, such as Chef Boyardee and Bumble Bee Tuna and turning them around. The firm paid close attention to the maker of Twinkies and Wonder Bread during its bankruptcy proceedings, Daren Metropoulos has said.

“We have analyzed this opportunity very carefully for a few years now,” Metropoulos said in an e-mail. “Shedding the complications of the unions and old plants makes it even more attractive.”

The 82-year-old company also makes Hostess CupCakes, Ding Dongs and Ho Hos. The private equity firm is “fully prepared to participate in any process involving selling the brands,” Daren Metropoulos said.

Hostess said today it will fire more than 18,000 workers and liquidate after a nationwide strike by bakery workers crippled operations. The company struggled after changes in American diets led to years of declining sales while ingredient costs and labor expenses climbed.

The company, based in Irving, Texas, plans to sell its products until supplies are exhausted. The decision to liquidate capped a weeklong standoff between Hostess, once the largest U.S. wholesale baker, and a union that called its proposed labor contract “horrendous.”

sell them quick, they just halted the process of Hostess closing down the company, they are trying to mediate the situation.

NGALO1983 11-20-2012 12:54 AM

NGALO1983 11-21-2012 04:34 AM

Check out this link below. An ebay seller who is selling one box of Twinkies for $12,000 dollars LMAO and says he will donate half to charity lol Cant blame him or her for trying.

dallasreed 11-21-2012 12:50 PM

I just wonder if anyone who sells any of these actually gets paid. I hate doing auctions on eBay just because there are so many people that just buy and don't pay. I would figure anyone bidding 400 on a box of twinkies is just a troll.
