Paypal Merchant Rates

Hi all,

I have been on ebay for many many years but only recently heard about merchant discount rates if you have transactions over £1500/month see below:

Merchant rate criteria
Merchant rate pricing approval is reserved for members in good standing (whose accounts are not currently under investigation) who meet the following criteria:•Received more than £1,500.00 GBP in PayPal payments in the previous calendar month.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Maintaining your merchant rate
After qualifying for merchant rate pricing, all members are expected to:•Keep their PayPal account in good standing. Members may be downgraded to the Standard rate if a payment volume of more than £1,500.00 GBP is not maintained in the previous calendar month, or if they have unresolved chargebacks.

Note: Members do not need to reapply for merchant rate pricing if payment volume drops below £1,500.00 GBP, unless their account is downgraded or if there are unresolved chargebacks.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Application
PayPal users interested in receiving the Merchant Rate should apply via our online application form. In the event that your request is denied, please note that you may only submit an application once every thirty days.
If you qualify for the merchant rate, login to your PayPal account and apply.

My questions is this, I helped a friend to establish a fully verified stealth style account do about £2000/month now, can he apply for this without it potentially causing any problems i.e. do you have to go through the verifiction process all over again?

Thanks

I just did it. I was approved right away after submitting the application online. No phone calls or anything.

This was a stealth account turned legit with LLC, EIN, bank account, & address all real and match.

You did it with LLC and EIN Emanresu - nice.

so even though stealth as long as its fully verified it should work?

Yup same as the use above... semi stealth I got my rates down to 1.9% I think it is. Fast and easy

Both that thread and this one don't have a ton of info - probably not many are into this.
