SIMON won't let me buy gift accts - fraud dept investigaton?!?!
 

So, I bought 2 new simon gift accts online the other day for ebay ID's, and after 4 days still did not receive them. I called the customer service number I received w/ my confirmation email & was told that they flagged the account for possible fraud & now need a copy of my DL, a utility bill, and a copy of the CC used to purchase the gift accounts before I will be able to purchase any gift accounts. I used my real debit card from my business account & bought 2 $20 cards...not a major purchase by anyone's standards!! Why on earth would this happen? Has anyone else experienced this & if so, should I send them all of my info??? This seems pretty absurd just to buy a couple damn gift accts!!!!!!!!

I feel like I am cursed...I swear EVERY SINGLE THING I do from the ebook, etc. doesn't work for me!! I have eBay accts set-up but can't get my merchant acct approved (for NO reason...at least none that Trevin in verification dept is willing to give me),can't collect money becuz Paypal freezes everything as soon as I get paid & demands a SSN, can't even set-up to sell or a Paypal since I can't get the bloody simon gift accoutn...AAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am losing my mind!!!:mad:

Any idea what the cause for this is...and solution?? Should I just fax them all my personal info???

Simon Company has been around for a long time and tons of users on this forum have used them successfully. They usually require a verified by Visa credit card to be used for the purchase. But anyway, yes send them what they want; they're just need to verify you're legit.

Any chance you have an "EX" maybe using your cc? Or- may have ran up the joint check acct? Something thats putting these brick walls up for you??

No...it's a fairly new WAMU bisiness acct in my name & my legit business name. Nothing fishy about it, so unsure why the red flags?? It makes me nervous...lol...I hate doing all these "Paypal" steps (like sending utility bills, etc.) - BLAH!!

Buying a Simon Gift account with Mastercard
 

Is it even possible to buy a Simon Gift account with a Mastercard? I have tried and been given the message that the transaction cannot go through and to check all the info in my application and try again. Well I did, again and again. They include Mastercard in their drop down menu for CC's when you are entering your payment and billing info. Why would they do that if they only accept Verified Visa accounts? Has anyone been able to buy a Simon Gift account with a Mastercard? I don't have a Visa except the Gift2Go one I just got for $25.00. I doubt that this Visa is "verified" anyway. I would like to use Simon because it is so much more convenient but the original story in this thread kind of scares me. Did they ever get their Simon accounts or did they get their payment refunded? Maybe I can go to the local CVS store and buy the Cash card that they offer there. I am also going to get 2 new CC's with the two Business bank accounts I just opened up for my new eBay/PP accounts. But I would like to know about Simon and Mastercard because that is all that I have.

For my Visa needs I purchase a Virtual Visa from ePassporte.com, I used to use ePassporte for Full Tilt and Poker Stars. The cool thing is it works for both ebay and paypal and you get the information instantly without having to wait. When you purchase it, ePassporte sends the gift account and email with username and passporte. There is a $5 dollar fee and I think a $5 minimum purchase on the gift card, so it's not too bad. Also, ePassporte requires minimum $25 deposite.

I looked up the malls near me who sell Simon and there really isn't one within a 45 minute drive. I have tried to buy a $25.00 card with both my Mastercards and it will not even attempt to complete the transaction. I called the bank that issued it and they said that no transaction was even attempted. These are debit cards. Do you think that this is the problem?

Call and cancel and try differnt CC same thign happend to me.

Regarding epassporte

I have used this sucesfully for a few years on ebay to verify new accounts. You can also use your epassporte to load money from PP VCC using paypal plugin.

I have never been able to use it to verify PP accounts as it seems to always fail AVS tests.

You stated you used epasporte for PP. How have you done this.

I didn't understand. I couldn't order simon card. Please help me.
