Being given a powerseller eB account, not the PP though, will this be an issue?
 

I am being given a top rated silver powerseller account (1500+ FB) by a friend who is emigrating.

Now here comes the problem, he will only give me the EB account and NOT the PP account. Both accounts have never had any problems.

So what i thought was:

1)Get EB account details, change to stealth details (new identity, address, DOB, phone, email)

2) Create PP in stealth details

After this i assume i can start selling slowly... Then i will get hit with the £1900 limit... Then submit docs (obviously a gamble here)

I have tried over and over to persuade to give me the PP as well but this is literally a no go.

What does anybody think? Will this work? Or is it not even worth bothering if he will not let me have the PP account?

no thats not the way

dont change anything at all without thinking this through very carefully

you have a good account there dont ruin it by hacting hastily

changing things can raise flags

why cant you have the paypal too ?

They just really don't want to give the PP as well, i have tried to persuade, just with all bank details and cards attached - i have told them these can be removed but they will not budge on this.

What would you recommend doing? Keep in same details and set up a new PP with my friends details using a VCC (this would still require docs i would have thought - VCC won't match on postcode verification to lift £1900 limit)

cash is a great persuader

id make him an offer for the pp and tell him to remove the cards and bank accounts as i imagine its the financial implications that are concerning him

ive added a new pp to an old account in the past and it was fine (apart from payment holds)

but its not ideal

the pp and ebay are worth lots of money to you if you have to "persuade him" i think its money well spent personally

is he actually a friend ?

or have you got an ebay by "mistake" and cant actually get the pp :shhh:

The eBay is of great value if used in thecorrect ways but TSMT is right, get the PayPal as it will make your life so much easier

It's a good friend from uni who is moving to NZ.

I am going to call him and try persuade to give with the PP as well one last time.

If I cannot would the new PP added in the same details get the £1900 limit?

A better approach would be for the two of you to become partners now B4 he leaves for wherever. Get your foot on the account now.

Dont worry about the existing paypal. You can attach ANOTHER paypal, verify & confirm it. Have your own email too, of course. Then make sure you use that one for sales.

Explain this manner to your friend. Let him know you are not remotely interested in the paypal or the bank account. You will be using your own.

Yes, tried this method. Been working on an acquired account for 3 years. TRS status still going

@GB - Would you recommend the new PP being in my own stealth details then? Would this not raise flags having and ebay with sales going to a PP in a different name?
