1. Go to digitalocean.com

2. Create a account with a valid email because you will get your information later on your mail.

3. When you done type any random name for ''hostname''.

4. Choose 56MB / 1 CPU 20GB Disk & New York 1 & select one of the linux servers.

5. When you done click on ''Create Droplet'' and you will after 1-2 min get a mail with the acces to your server.

Note:

They only let you use one of four Linux operating systems: Fedora, Ubuntu, CentOS, or Gentoo, If you want to install OpenVPN and make VPN servers, you need to google how to install it on one of these four. You don't get a windows image.

free is always nice but it is not a long term solution. free gets used and abused

I could see myself using this for other reasons. I don't need to create accounts with these. Get ready for cloud operating systems in 2013. They will begin to pop up out of no where. I am using Cloud Windows XP on my tv, works well, but have yet to test accounts on it. No one ever talks about them, so I doubt people will be using them for creating accounts till they get more popular.

shared IP? I'd rather spend $15 and get a proper one.

These types of options have been about on the forum on & off for a long time.

They invite troubles.

Majority of users are after making long term successful accounts. Free bandwidth excludes this probability.

GreenBean, I use VPSs all the time I sell things on Xbay :), thats still ok, no trouble :D
