Default Buying visa gift cards on eBay

I was noticing that people buy visa gift cards on eBay. Most of them sell for the same price and some sell for more than the price including the activation fee. So if the card is loaded with $100, people might bid to $121.

Does anybody know the reasoning for this? Why don't people just go buy one at the store?

Also, is this a good option to withdrawal your paypal funds without having to attach a bank account? There are no stealth rules about buying things from eBay are there?

They might be doing just this lol... it's fine to do.

Some people can't just bear to lose an auction, and get butthurt when they do... so they bid just for the sake of beating everyone and preserving their epeen.

I love bidders who cannot stand others to win an auction.

I sold an antique toy that normally sold for 125.00 range for 400.00 in November.

36 bids.

Once it was over I was looking at the bidders and noticed after 150.00 it became a game to the two who fought it out until it got to 400.00.

Stupid bidders is a plus!

I love to triple my money on items and watch the bidders scratch each other to death.

People bid and item up to 400.00 for a 100.00 item cannot be smart people right?

Or maybe they just have more money then common sense?

Probably a combo of aggressive bidders (I wont call my bread and butter bidders stupid just yet :P)

but also people who are trying to quickly cash out their paypal accounts.
They are willing to eat a little bit of a loss in order to ensure their money arrives safely and not have to worry about it becoming limited.

Think about it. you have 1k in an account and you use the money on ebay/paypal, they most likely will not have a problem with you reusing the money. even if you buy a lot of $100 gift cards and use the rest for fees and over bids, you still get a majority of that money out.
