Greendot and Paypal buddies

It has been talked about for some time that greendot is sharing info with pp.

I wanted to take a stab at it myself to see if I could use GD to add funds to a pp account and see if it would work like it used to with no problems.

So I added a GD card to get funds to a pp account and used a previous address instead of the current address.

Within 1 hour I get a message from paypal asking me to go into my pp account and change my address as it appears that I have moved and needed to update my new address.

So the dirty rats are sharing information.

Be careful everyone.

Just testing the waters as I used to do this all the time with no issues at all.
I like to test things to learn and keep up to date and it came out that my assumption was correct and these buddies are illegally sharing information.

Thank you.

Oh boy, I wonder if they share info with Greendot deposits to their Greendot prepaid debit card. I am currently using 2 atm.

Sandy D 12-30-2012 12:09 AM

I did that also for a long time and got away from it because a user reported that he lost some accounts a while back doing it so I stopped.

Sharing personal info like this is illegal and pp and gd should know better.

Yea I remember that he was banned from Greendot. I think he was using many cards at one time. I stick myself to a max of 2 at a time. When I dont need it anymore, I close it and get another one. But I rarely do that.

No FDIC regulation = total outlaw tactics.

And that someone used to rape everything he touched the maximum.

Good testing Sandy - wish I could do something with that GD up here

Sandy D 12-31-2012 01:53 PM

GD is useless if they are going to do this crap.

Dont know if you would use them knowing they need SSN and will share info with each other.

Wondering just how much info they share.

I know they exchanged the address but wonder what else they shared.

unkown5454 12-31-2012 03:52 PM

PP should just buy them out already.

Very dangerous indeed without FDIC regulation - was reading up on this

But, there is no difference between the two of them. They are constantly in cohorts.

problem is FDIC is only as good as it gets applied.

Finance is an institution so to speak.

Info has been exchanged one way or another for years. It's like the tip of an ice-berg, consumers do not realize the depth of what happens.

Bear in mind, a paypal staffer at bottom level will not have a great deal of interaction with info exchange. But their superiors at a higher level will.

Like you said, there's the intrinsic danger.
