Paypal - asking if i want to change ...
 

I am just about to add my uk bank to a ukPP.

Its asking if i wish to change my last name I have registered with to a last name of a bank account?

Is this normal?
Should i change it to my real name, so it goes through with no problems?
Is it a trap!

ah, the old catch the user trick.....

I think you are meaning the notice that says if the bank details do not match the name of the bank account there will be issues?

It's common for both paypal UK & paypal australia to put that on the form.

You may ignore that and add your stealth name.

Do not use your real information. If your bank accepts deposits in stealth name, than NO PROBLEM keeping the account in other name.

PP account name is John Doe. Yoru name is Will Day. Name of bank account holder on pp will be....John Doe.

An old trick that paypal has had for years as far as I remember.

People get married and legally have their names changed, etc. BUT, its a tactic to trip you up.

They ask you to fax in the legal documents or to call them and explain as to why your last name needs changing. Your account usually goes into red flag mode afterwards as they match it up with the data base.
