Just wondering, when does the traffic and sales start to pick up again in January?

In UK i find its normally end of the month when people get paid.
From new year to 20th approx in Jan is very quiet for me .
Everyone has overspent at xmas and takes a few weeks to recover.
Very clever man that invented xmas ... A true shopkeeper he was.

I started selling yesterday and sales seem to be back to normal. My auction prices are just at average before holiday season.

I got a little here and there, hopefully it'll pick back up to a normal pace so I can have enough $ to pay my house in February.

North America statistics seems to show a return to normal sale pace around the 15th-20th of January.

This coincides with 2nd January paycheck and the resolution of boxing day bills on the buyer's end.

I just averaged yesterday's sales and the ones I got today so far and auctions prices are 7.5% below average. Not bad I guess.

I don't know about you guys but my sales doing actually VERY WELL. Surprisingly! But I think it's mainly due to search manipulation.

Very quiet here too but i don't have much listed.

I use this time of year to wind down last years accounts and to try and make my business plan and get organised for the coming year and prepare (list on) the accounts i plan use i will be done by the 25th which i find a nice time of year to get back in to selling.

there was a post before Christmas asking what people do in regards to selling over Christmas or stop selling.

i sell through Christmas for the simple reason, i see more in sales over that few days than i do over the first two weeks of January and i give me much more time to get organised.

Hmm... sale is still super slow.

How is it for you? I forgot how it was in Jan 2012... anyone know if this is the trend?

I have averaged the last 3 days for my auctions sales and my prices are 4.7% higher than average. It seems the gift card shoppers are out.

Jan 1st to 19th / 20th was shocking.
Down maybe 30% on last year.
I have done more in the last 3 days than i have all month.
UK Weather is pretty poor right now so that hasnt helped either for my items.
I need to diversify for next winter thats for sure.
