Verifing bank account on PP...

Hi,

when adding a bank account to PP to verify, sometimes they send me a single £0.01 deposit with code which come through straight away, and then sometimes they send 2 deposits which takes 2-3 days (old way).

Am I doing something wrong with the order I set up my accounts to still have some verifications done the old way with the 2 deposits and 2-3 day wait, or is it random?

What is considered the norm?

p/p currently have two systems running, the single deposit is relatively new and still being rolled out across their entire system.

As not all banks currently accept the faster payment process this is why there are two in operation.

In my experience it depends on the bank you are using, I can confirm RBS and Natwest use instant £0.01 with 4 digit code, but Halifax still require the two deposits...

Have verified two Halifax accounts in that last week both with single deposit and 4 digit code

Ok then, I'm glad it was not something I was doing wrong then.

The funny thing is I had the 'new' instant deposit using Barclays (basic account and savings), and then the on another Barclays basic I had the 'old' 2-3 day deposit.

Then today I got a 'old' 2-3 day deposit on a basic RBS account.

Seems to be random, but more in favour of the 'new' way.

Are withdrawal to bank accounts as random as well? ie Some come through as faster payments, and some as regular 2-3 working days?

There are some reports to that effect

Mixed bag at the moment.

Consistency not happening

It should all be the "2 hour system" by now but with some withdrawals being selected for a review of up to 72 hours... once the review, if there is one, completes, it should appear in your bank within 2 hours. The old system where it took up to 72 hours to go from "pending" to "complete" without a review, and then sometimes another few days to appear in your bank account, seems to be gone.
