180 days passed on old account but bank account is gone
 

I have an old limited pp acount that has funds in it. It has been 182 days. The funds are available but they want to mail a check to a stealth address or let me withdraw to the old bank account I was using back then. Problem: That bank account is closed. How do I get my funds?

You should still be able to add a new bank account. They aren't giving you that option?

The only other bank accounts I have are linked to other stealth accounts.

How much do they owe you??? Maybe try calling them and explain to them that the bank account was closed because you have moved and have a new address now and just have them mail the check to an address that you have access to that was never registered with PP or Ebay.

You need to open a new bank account that hasn't been used on another paypal. It's your only option to get the money out and a fairly easy one.

You really dont need a new bank account. All you need to do is call them and request a check. You can even ask them to change the address on the account to send the check to wherever you want (home address).

And how do your recommend he cash a check that most likely has someone elses Name on it? :noidea:

Some banks will accept it if done properly (the check option) BUT those are very few. Not hard to open a bank account OP - whats the problem?

It's not worth the risk endorsing a check to yourself or someone else especially since it's so easy to open a bank account.

^^ Listen to the people that know what we're talking about. Just open a NEW bank account. It's simple.

Name difference needs serious consideration for correct cashing of the check.

Not as reliable these days to suggest getting the check sent out.

New bank account move is preferable.

Open a new bank, withdraw the money and be done!

In the uk you can get banks so easy, even pre paid cards come with account numbers and sort codes so for banned stealths thats what i use, rinse the money out and close off the account.

IMO I rather do that then waste a mainstream bank account on a dead stealth paypal.

Not sure what the US is like for prepaid cards etc.

PP won't allow him to access his account, yet alone add a new bank.

I would call PP give them a BS story that you moved and are temporarily living with friends and don't want to use their home address.

Ask PP if they will allow you to access the account to Add a new bank account.

How do you accept deposits in some elses name? That's the basis of stealth, banks accept deposits in different names.

Yep, I know several people who did it. PP did not object.

Just tell PP you closed your bank account but would like to add a new account to withdraw funds.

Shut up, then see what they say.

I doubt they'll give you any problems.
