| | | Roscoe | 01-20-2013 05:11 PM | What is considered an AGED account for PayPal? Does a PayPal account have more "Credibility," "Age," or "Higher Status" if I add a Bank account and verify with AVS CC sooner rather than later?
I normally add the Basic info required to create an account.
Verify the email account instantly.
I then wait a few days, log back in and see if any problems or questions from PP.
Add AVS CC several days later.
Then a few days later I will add a Bank account. Like Speeder33 said "bank accounts are a terrible thing to waste."
Any Experienced members here have any thoughts on this process?
Thanks in advance. |
| NoneOther | 01-20-2013 05:15 PM | Yes.
An aged account is one with a steady trading history without holds, buyer disputes and chargebacks etc that to all intents and purposes p/p would seem to be happy with. |
| Roscoe | 01-20-2013 05:34 PM | Ok, let me ask this.
Let's assume I create 2 PP accounts today.
One with NO verification, and the other with AVS CC and Bank account added today.
Both accounts sit Idle for 12 months.
One year from today if I add AVS CC and a Bank account to the first account will both have the same credibilty?
I need to create many PP accounts, several hundred (SandyD like) but I don't want to add AVS CC and Bank accounts until I need to use the account.
Any insight would be appreciated. |
| NoneOther | 01-20-2013 05:46 PM | Neither will have any credibility as they will be two 12 month old accounts with no history or activity therefore no credibility what so ever.
To AGE an account it has to be USED and used well, without any issues.
Your suggested scenario will cause nothing but major problems when you actually start to use them.

| Elijah | 01-20-2013 05:48 PM | When you start selling, there is a good chance that you will get PayPal's BS limitation of "it's been a while since you used your account". So I really wouldn't advise leaving nay account that long without activity. I would just create the accounts as and when I need them personally. |
| GreenBean | 01-20-2013 05:57 PM | Bear in mind too that Roscoe is doing off ebay transactions at this moment.
It would be impractical ,imo, to go into business with anything less than a fully verified & confirmed paypal account that has had activity.

| Roscoe | 01-20-2013 05:59 PM | Seems like you can't sell too much too fast or don't sell and risk problems down the road. |

| Sandy D | 01-20-2013 06:06 PM | I call my new accounts BABY STEALTHS.
Just like raising a baby, you have to go slow and teach them and get them to trust you and soon you will have a account that is not only trusted and growing but will make you money.
Slow and grow baby stealths have got me to where I am today.
Making baby stealths all the time. |

| jamblix | 01-20-2013 08:23 PM | In my experience AVS VCC doesn't matter much until you need to start withdrawing more then $500 per month. I still verify with AVS VCC anyways, definitely doesn't hurt.
For your strategy, I really doubt it makes a difference adding a bank account or not and letting it age. Pretty much any account with no buying or selling history made after 2008 has been the same in selling power.
Backups are always important though, I have a few myself with no banks accounts attached to them. Honestly though, I could open an account today and be selling to the max 10/$1000 or realistically 10/$500-$800 by March and wouldn't have any issues. |
| derbydave | 01-20-2013 08:49 PM | so, let's say you've got 2 PP accounts. 1 was opened 1 year ago, has been used a lot, no negative feedback or complaints and has a 1000s of sales. Your other account was registered 10 years ago and it's never been used, just plodding along doing f*ck all.
Which one's useful? |
| GreenBean | 01-20-2013 08:57 PM | Provided neither is limited both are useful.
It's how the 'toy' gets used that matters.
It's where it gets used that should be taken into account.

| oompaloompa | 01-21-2013 06:21 AM | mine are in a 'nursery', if one dies early, oh well plenty of others in next cot (user), often wondered why you have 2 made in exactly same method, and one dies, thats why I know it is random check, maybe they check every fifth one for example...If the ebay dies the paypal is often still useful, in fact one of my strongest paypals had its ebay counterpart killed.....life is cruel (tries not to laugh)
on a serious note, buying reasonably priced goods on the acc, strengthens it, hard with stealth address but possible, think eg. some tracking, when you can change destination en route.... |
| mercurial333 | 01-21-2013 07:32 AM | Rather add VBA, and switch real bank account once it's aged properly. Unless you need the money straight away. |
