a few more questions after reading the book ,,

sorry if these questions seem stupid -- I really don't want to make any mistakes. :o

First, I plan on creating many user accts for my computer and only using aol it log on. I won't ever clear ip address b/c from what I have learned here, AOL is safe. (agree?) I will do the cc cleanup thing quite often though.

Also, I am leaning towards a merchant account and auctiva -- just not sure yet. Looks to me like paypal is a big pain and a trap. I'd really like to stay away from them as much as possible.

1. do i need a different street address for all my new ebay accounts?
( I think the answer is yes, but i'd thought i'd ask)

2. do i need a different phone # for all my new ebay accounts? (this could get pricey if i do tollfreeeforwarding and have to get a new # for each account.)

3. can i get a merchant acct, get autiva, integrate them and bypass paypal all together?

4. 2checkout.com -- after reading about this, i wondered, can i use this service and skip paypal all together? also, do I need a merchant account in order to use this service?

5. faxzero.com -- can i just scan and create pdf files and use this service from home? Is that ok or should I travel out whenever i need to fax.

tia!

1.) Yes
2.) Yes, instead of tollfreeforwarding try Vumber (you'll even get the first number free for 30 days)
3.) With a merchant account, you won't have to use Paypal. However, it might be good to make a Paypal account anyways for each of the accounts in order to start selling (I think eBay requires a Paypal account for new sellers these days, but I could be wrong)
4.) Read #3
5.) FaxZero doesn't share information with eBay or Paypal, to my knowledge.

I personally have never used a merchant account. Paypal is a trap - but there are many things you can do with Paypal that you can't do on a merchant account, such as get free money (I'm not going to go into this as it's not really legal but as long as your bases are covered it is possible to exploit funds from Paypal).

Hello:
Yes--everything new/ Everything different to avoid linkage.
If you get a merch acct--I would suggest a cart manager-for ease and automation--
You can pm Modee--he is auth reseller for Cart manager=you can get a deep discount.

Google Checkout + Cartmanager

Authorize.net + Auctiva

Google Checkout + Cartmanager -- I'm sry - please elaborate.

Google checkout is a payment processor and cart manager is a software that's sends invoices right after your auction ends. I wouldn't recommend google checkout as you will have a harder time convincing customers to pay you with it. You'll have an easier time with ccnow as it accepts paypal payments for you.
