Default PayPal Prepaid

PayPal pre-paid debit, you can purchase this at a number of different places, including the Paypal website it's self. Anyone got one of these? Say I bought one from somewhere, can I add funds to it from my stealth Paypal without providing a SSN or EIN?

Dont buy from Walmart. You will probably end up being suspended, as when you purchase from them, you paypal payment goes to 'pending' status and then Walmart call you to verify all your details.

Never heard a good thing on this forum about walmart & prepaid cards

Hmm I haven't tried it myself - mainly because its tied to paypal and why would i want to willingly give them even more control of my own money than they already have?

I don't know of any prepaid cards (the reloadable ones) in the US that don't require a SSN; therefore, I am assuming that they require one too... and I don't think that Paypal would like for a stealth pp account to go to a prepaid PP card account with mix matched names.

There are so many different prepaid cards available, why go to paypal?

From all I have read about the prepaid debit cards in the US, I would expect that you would provide SSN to PP...and they would gladly keep it to track

How would they have more control? As soon as the money is on there you go to the ATM and take it off, I don't see more control in that.

I agree. I just thought maybe they wouldn't require a social and it could be somehow attached and withdrawn.

Just think you are in Europe on vacation! You have the paypal prepaid debit card! You are so happy to be in Europe, you are traveling country to country.

Taking pictures and then say "hey lets get a hotel I am tired" you go to pay and knowing you have $1,000 on their. The person working at the front desk will tell you "Sir, your card is declined!" You do the jaw dropping priceless look! Searching the web and land on this forum and asking us questions for help while you are at some computer location renting per minute!

Just to call up paypal when they are closed! And only to find out the card is limited or who knows what, just think of all the problems and stories you have read already. Would you really want one of these??? I hope you like to sleep and camp outside!

With all the prepaid cards out there. I wouldn't pick paypal!

As I said in my previous post, transfer the funds and withdraw at an ATM right away. I would never keep a thousand on the card, or in any Paypal account for that matter... The whole point was to transfer the funds from the Paypal to the card to get the funds, not to use the Paypal card.

Knowing them, withdrawing the funds RIGHT AWAY would probably be a red flag! (I am kidding).

Paypal verify center call

PP: Hi sir how are you today?
You: I am fine and you?
PP: Sir we'll have to flag your account now.

They don't know your name! They don't know the account number! Just hang up!

That's exactly what happened to my brother while he was in Spain last year.

Sorry Sir, your PP card was declined, do you have another card?

NO.

Do you accept AMEX Travelers Checks?

No we don't sir, you'll have to find a bank in Barcelona to redeem them.

And then he got bent over with the Currency Exchange Rate.

HAHAHAHA And PP will tell you that "oh sir you were in Europe we were thinking due to fraud to put a hold on your card" lol (canada banks due this to my wife, the 1st 2 transactions will pass but the 3rd wont, you have to tell them you are going to EU so they know on the system that the card is not stolen! or someone copied it!).

Bring a TENT WITH YOU IF YOU HAVE A PP DEBIT CARD! lolllllllllllll
