Default Does opening a store increase seller limits

I recently read from several people on this forum that they opened a store and all of a sudden their seller limits increased significantly. Toolman89 wrote that he got seller limits of 100/7500 without even selling a single item, after opening a store. Ace717 wrote that after opening a store his limits were doubled from 1500/$20,000 to 3000/$42,000. Now I don't know if these reports are coincidences but I do think this is worth experimenting with. So I made this thread for everyone to report their findings and any preexisting knowledge that one might have. If this is something we can get to work regularly this will be a great help in our fight against seller limits.

Yes it does increase because when you have a store! People look at you as a pro, but normally the main reason is this. You have to put in SEO key words into the store for people to help you find the store (to help you in the search engine with ebay). There is also a part in the store that says "explain or a bit about you" just write down more keywords in there! It works! Also name the store to something that will link up on google search.

For example.

ebay.com/car-stickers <--- this will show up on google.

I only open up a store when ebay sends me an email saying "Good job you should open a store" lol. The only great thing about a store is that you only pay .05 cents per GTC auctions and they run forever! And they are cheaper then paying .50 cents.

Buy the store it's cheaper in the long run! Just get the store! It also leaves feedback to people who paid for the items and left you feedback or you can set it up too leave feedback as soon as customer paid for the item!

Well worth it if you ask me! Also comes with some goodies!

Oops! lol SORRY!

Just a side note I did have some limit on my account and after opening the store. I did call up ebay and asked them nicely to raise the limit! And they even asked me over the phone if I had enough of this stuff and I told them I did. they didn't ask me to fax over or email anything over. And I got it raised over the phone and they did check with paypal while I was on hold to see if paypal has everything on me! And I had no limits after that phone call. I got stuff over $5 million posted. I normally post 1500 of each item for my GTC.

I also told them I got the store, cause I invested a lot of stuff and it was a shame if I couldn't move it and it would be lost. etc.

I hope this helps and maybe you can try/do the same.

Maybe there is more to it though, TSMT. There might be more conditions that have to be met or perhaps it is a contributing factor to the formula of getting good limits in the beginning.

I believe limits are put so people who are new don't scam anyone and give ebay a bad name! Work your way up the ladder style!

Why not get the store and try what I did? It's free the 1st 30 days. If not cancel it. As long as you have good feedback, and nothing major on the account what you got to lose?
