| | | LoopHole | 01-29-2013 02:56 PM | PP is more organized than i thought They have a whole department that tracks packages....... :smash: |
| testdog | 01-29-2013 03:29 PM | That statement means you were up to a scam or something ? |
| LoopHole | 01-29-2013 03:46 PM | Nope, just thought it was interesting. |
| Callidus | 01-29-2013 03:49 PM | As in tracks them from when people upload the tracking number to then release funds on peoples accounts? |
| Sandy D | 01-29-2013 04:10 PM | A couple of years ago I checked into their entire organization and they are much larger then people think.
Check into it, the top dogs have special parking spots, special offices etc.
The building was divided into departments and each dept had a top dog, a vice top dog etc and it showed how many employees worked for them at that time and it was unreal numbers.
I know they have cut back but do know they have several depts like this.
They also have a large dept for just buying items off ebay to check on sellers, see how you pack, your shipping speed etc.
I have sold to several different of these accounts and you will know them when you notice the same constant message telling you what and how to do something.
Each of those accounts had well over 100,000 BUYING transactions.
So dug into this and actually found they have a dept called PURCHASES AND RECEIVING for check out their ebay purchases.
So yes, they are well oiled but make very poor decisions from the top down.
Hence the reason for the new roll out of a scam PR we have been talking about to fix their horrific image. |

There are departments within departments.
One must be astute with supplying anything to paypal....anything.

Also in the cases where they bought stuff from you, what kind of things did they make you do? I think i've had them purchase from me too. |
| steve70000 | 01-29-2013 04:34 PM | ouch..dose this mean it you have a stealth account in say london.
but your realy from sheffield and you post a ebay item with tracking info
from sheffield your going to be flagged.. |
| GreenBean | 01-29-2013 04:38 PM | @steve,
Should not be an issue. Goods are in the same country as the account.
After all who knows what Royal Mail might do on the day of dispatch of goods.
Your need is to supply a valid tracking number .
:peace: |
| steve70000 | 01-29-2013 04:55 PM | WOW,,, Thanks GreenBean was sweating a bit there.LOL... |

PP announced its new way of doing business recently, they promised to be more customer service oriented etc. Total PR move because of the competition they are getting. Google it, you will see it.
Add ebay item no to outside of box, send message with dc inside with the following info, copy and paste.
Just a list of things to do most they can do from their end.
I tested them once and told them I will not put ebay item on outside of box.
Replied why not no one knows what it is.
Then came the message, we are an ebay partner and would appreciate it if you follow our request as we purchase thousands of items in the US for re-selling overseas and need to sort boxes as they come in.
re selling overseas..... yes they did. |
| balzac | 01-30-2013 08:32 AM | Wow, looks like special forces :mod: |
| Sandy D | 01-30-2013 09:25 AM | Funny how they pretend to be so perfect and get us to believe they are so seller oriented and buy items off USA sellers and re sell out of the USA?
JFYI
They buy a ton of Fire King Glassware and re sell a certain pattern in Japan and China.
I looked down through pages of items they bought and it was a ton of this pattern all down the sheets.
So they are competing right back to the sellers I believe in UK, China, Japan etc. |

re selling overseas..... yes they did. | I had one of those too bt at the time didn't make anything out of it. I didn't think that it could be eB at all! since they were buying an iphone from me. But now it makes sense. eB has iphone/ipad buy back program right. So they buy it from you and then resell it and check you as well  sneaky :faint: |

Very sneaky.
Most of their own ebay names have the words flight in them.
They use several. |

re selling overseas..... yes they did. | Ahhh ok see, the only one i have gotten was to put # inside of box. Never outside of box. It was a huge seller also, like 300,000 feedback or so. |

| Sandy D | 01-30-2013 11:44 PM | I did not dig into them that much to know this.
They know what they are doing. They have someone who knows exactly what they are buying.
I buy 50-100 items a week off ebay for re sale myself. I am on ebay right now going through new listing and ending auctions in the categories I always find items. Many tonight are wrongly listed, wrong called, wrong category etc. Like going to the bank on the listings ending tonight for me. One item I am hoping to snipe for 25.01 I can sell back on ebay for an easy 250-300 if it is as described.
The last item they bought from me I ran for 7 days starting at 9.99 and they bought for 75.00. I paid 14.99 at a thrift store for it. Many sell for 175-200 range. I made good money on it and meat was left for them to re sell for good profits.
What I did see they bought will be profits for them no matter where they sell.
They have bought many antiques/collectible items from me I know they can turn over just like I did. |

:boink: | It is not from a department. I have an evidence showing that they have all that controlled by computer system and completely automatically, not manually.

I grab some awesome find about this time of night.
Wrong category, wrong maker, wrong description etc.
I have one section I clean house on because most people have no clue as to the maker because this company almost never marked their 1930-50s items.
