Indefinite Suspension, need some advice

Ok, so the jist of the story is as follows:

I purchase wholesale lots of used cell phones, then resell them individually. I'd had an ebay account since 04, but only started to sell in earnest in October 12. Obviously, I had no idea that DSRs were so frigging important, or that cases opened against you also carried so much weight. I didn't know that ebay doesn't give a damn about the seller, and I didn't realize that buyers can outright LIE in their feedback (2 negatives for selling a broken phone that was listed and DESCRIBED as for parts. They couldn't fix the phone, so they left me negative feedback). So, ya, I ended up with the suspension of death (despite 671 feedback). God...how I wish I'd discovered this forum 4 months ago.

The bad part is this....I still have about $12,000 worth of phones lying around that I need to list/sell. That's going to take me FOREVER with stealth accounts (yes, I already paid for the book, as evidenced by my posting here :-) ). My day job is Network Support, so I have no fear that I can pull off the stealth accounts without a problem...but in the meantime I have 400+ phones that will be sitting here depreciating every day.

So, I have a friend that's helped me with listing my phones before. He's offered to let me sell them on his account. Now, I don't want to get his account suspended because I listed them. Is it ok for me to use Turbo Lister to list on his account, assuming that I cleared cookies/new profile/changed IP/etc?

The last thing I want to do is screw him over, but I can't take a $12k hit either. Ugh.

Also, for what it's worth, I plan on creating an LLC and starting over from scratch, but it's going to take time, and I can't afford to let these phones sit around this long.

Thanks! I feel like these forums are going to be a huge help.

All the answers you seek are in the guide and throughout this forum.

Good Luck

I would stop using his account totally. You will get it canned.

Read the forums and get started with a stealth account with your own info.

Success stories are all over this forum.

People sell phones on CL all of the time. Why not try it?

Also, if you need to move them how about finding someone to wholesale them to?

Then once you get your stealth account going get back into buying more up to date phones etc.

So, should my friend just totally forget about his account that he's had for 5 years? Did I royally screw him over by hiring him to post for me? Craaaaap....I hope not.

I'm looking for someone to sell to wholesale at this point (any takers here on the forum? I'd be happy to share my ebay username through PMs to verify that I'm legit in what I do), and I have many phones posted on CraigsList at the moment. Sadly, I live in the midwest, so there's not a huge demand locally for used phones.

I plan on starting over again slowly and trying to build it back up. I'm hoping to move out to Los Angeles here within the next 3 months or so, and I was PLANNING (hoping) to be able to resell as my main source of income. Hopefully registering an LLC and being halfway across the country will help to mask my identity from ebay/PP

1st point I will make is that Turbo Lister has a lot of issues with it so not the best to you from my opinion. Other points will come slowly

Sandy D 02-01-2013 04:01 PM

I would not use turbo lister at all. Not worth it. Full of issues and possible tracking.

Business and friends usually dont mix well. I would stop using his account.

You should google cell phone buyers and you will probably get a ton of leads. Other thing is try Gazelle or some other recycler and see if they are interested.
