Adding ein to Paypal after account created?

I'm aware that ebay stealth suggests you start an account with a valid ein or ssn. My question is has anyone changed their Paypal account by upgrading to a business account and adding an ein after the account has been created?

How will Paypal see this? Will they still ask for ssn when you reach the limit of 200/$20,000 even though you have given the ein? Or is it best to start off as suggested in ebay stealth with ein in place when account created?

To give a little more info. The accounts I want to add an ein to are aged and have established sales feedback record. Feedback is low under 20 but growing with daily sales. My thought was to sell until they have established enough of record to have paypal remove its fund holds for new sellers. After it reaches 100-125 sales I would like to add the ein to Paypal and change them to a business account. Hopefully to allow it to sell beyond the 200 limit for the rest of the year.

Personally I don't mind paying taxes as it is a part of life. I realize that this adds additional expenses upfront, but should in the long haul be quite profitable if you have the right product you can sell in mass.

Thank you for your input.

If your account is already established, then add the EIN long before paypal decides to ask. In majority of cases the EIN being on file has been accepted by paypal. No SSN has been required. Do note it's not a hard & fast rule that paypal will not ask.
Your aim should be to appear tax complaint before any limits are reached.
Also the figure of 200/$20000 is not set in stone. paypal may ask a seller whose levels are much much lower.

How does one go about getting multiple EINS for their accounts? Can I tie them to my SSN as far as the IRS is concerned, but not have Paypal know they are all related?

One takes professional TAX advice.

I say this because it's your responsibility to have a business plan that will meet IRS needs. No users on this forum are tax professionals.

Dont add anything paypal doesnt ask for. I started by not adding an ESN. They asked to provide one at the 20, 000 threshold. I did and was let through. They asked for SSN later down the road.
