can i collect from you...

that old chestnut :pound:

had a message from a potential customer

eb undercover :pop2: or genuine knot sure

but i notice they were listed in my stealth area so fair play to them

but i gave them a decent answer of why im unable to allow collections made, and they fully understood

i wondered what excuses folks make about not being able to allow a collection for obvious reasons, perhaps we could compile a top 5

1st time its happened to me so i was oh..ok

vxmotorsport 02-10-2013 04:00 PM

i get this quite often, its frustrating but i say i cannot allow collection due to work commitments...

Ukdirect 02-10-2013 04:54 PM

I normally tell them that the stick isn't dispatched from the office address

Clara 02-10-2013 06:18 PM

I always say that I would be unable to arrange a collection time due to erratic work schedule and constant travel

stevebills 02-10-2013 06:24 PM

NO!!!!!!!!!!

I just say no!!!!!

Simplest answer is always the best, no need for explanations just tell them it's not convenient

Re: can i collect from you...

I've done it in the past. Spoke to the person first and everything was kosher. Actually sold a guitar to a famous record producer

i've got someone coming to pick something up next weekend. ebay/PP address says i live in the midlands, i actually live in the midlands, just 15 miles away from where EB/PP says. wasn't too hard to explain to them (i moved...obviously i haven't). if your EB/PP says you live in John O' Groates but you live in Lands End, there may be a problem!

Bunneh 02-10-2013 10:39 PM

i would probably worry about security issues when it comes to someone coming to my house, so i would always refuse this as i have heard stories lol

I completely agree ! :juggle:

I tell them I have twin Rottweilers that have started foaming at the mouth but they can stop by and pet them if they want.

I tell them, we are not setup to receive customers for direct pick-up (liability for customer on the premise, etc.)
