| | | | | mjstallion | 02-16-2013 01:27 AM | Paypal limited with 4K in it -- Appeal Denied I realize there have been a number of threads on this in the past, but I can't find answers to some specific questions I have.
First off, account was limited with 4K in it. Sent in all requested documentation, was denied.
Few questions I have:
1) Since this was a stealth account, I don't see how I can sue. But I could still have an attorney send a demand letter and an Intent to Sue. Is there any history on whether PP responds to these?
2) My eb@y account owes about 1k in fees. It's got a VCC which I've closed and they've already attempted to charge. The account is not linked with my PP. Question is, are they going to pull that 1K out of the 4K from my PP account?
3) I have about 30 buyers which I haven't shipped to, but it's been about 5 days or so since some of them ordered. I'm going to refund all of them, but I have no doubt that I'll get hit with a barrage of negative feedback for this. Is this going to impact whether I end up getting paid in 180 days?
Thats in advance. I've been suspended plenty of times over the years, but never an instance like this where I was selling 100% legit items. Very frustrating. |
| Roscoe | 02-16-2013 01:30 AM | Did PP say they are never going to release your funds? Or will you only have to wait a 180 days?
90% of the time PP Limits your account AFTER you have provided documents. They do that to gather more Data on YOU. |
| Sandy D | 02-16-2013 01:33 AM | Another reason why I wont ever allow them to get their dirty hands on that much of my money.
I keep my pps cleaned out other then for a few refunds and fees. |
| mjstallion | 02-16-2013 01:42 AM | They say they'll give me the money in 180 days.
Sandy, I'm usually the same way with PP. But the item i was selling was 100% legit, no VERO, none of that. And it was selling like hotcakes, so i wasn't going to stop.
I saw that LizardKing wrote in a prior thread that he threatened PP to give them his funds immediately, and they did, but he didn't specify how. I wish PP had my real info this one time so I'd have the opportunity to kick their ass in small claims. http://media.scout.com/media/forums/...s/banghead.gif |
| Roscoe | 02-16-2013 01:45 AM | Why does everyone say Legit when talking about PP.
PP sucks, they can and will do anything they please with OUR money.
I always take money out asap.
I don't trust PP with one penny. |

| If you think you heard rubbish talk B4, then spend your funds on a letter of demand from an attorney. The double talk will blow you away. It is going to be complicated by what you state below. That ebay account going messy may make more grief. Quote:

| They may will go after their fees. Depends. Quote:

| It will impact. It will also impact on what amount you get as a refund if you have been told one is going to happen. You have to wait to see what ebay might do. Quote:

| More to this than you are saying. And I do not want to know. But $4000 in a paypal account is never wise.
Have you spoken to anyone to try to get some help? If you claim you are selling legit items, then this on face value appears unfair.

But I always start cleaning out everyday and still dont allow it to grow much over time.
I have had some amazing days too and start cleaning out money right away. |

:ranger: | Greenbean, you're jumping to conclusions. It was a Samsung Galaxy S3 accessory. It was not electronic, it was not name brand, not a gimmick, and priced under $50. I also didn't advertise "Samsung" or Galaxy" or anything like that in the title. The point I'm trying to make, having been a member here for 5 years, is that I didn't do anything stupid or risky which is why I allowed the PP balance to get that high.
However I have not spoken with anyone on the phone. I would figure it is a lost cause, but if there is precedent for phone reps to be able to overturn "final appeals" I'd definitely be willing to try.
Here's the email they sent: http://i45.tinypic.com/izmjye.png |
| GreenBean | 02-16-2013 02:20 AM | I repeat what I said. 'More to this than you are saying'.
That item has a brand name. Risky at the best of times. It might have been legit but with the brand name, it might also appear in an unfavorable light to paypal.
Allowing your balance to go over even $500 was taking a chance.
it's well documented here to be dangerous. |
| mjstallion | 02-16-2013 02:31 AM | Greenbean, can you elaborate on "Have you spoken to anyone to try to get some help?"
Is this an option for me at this point, and if so, what department would it be? |
| GreenBean | 02-16-2013 03:36 AM | Always options.
:ranger: |
| mercurial333 | 02-16-2013 03:45 AM | I'd rather wait the 6 months. All that time you invest in "possibly" getting the funds sooner, can be spent making more accounts, so that next time a lost account doesn't disrupt your business. |

2) No.
3) No, Only the final amount. |

PP sucks. Didn't do anything "stupid or risky."
What does that have to do with PP limiting your account?
Since when does being smart and doing everything right STOP PP from limiting our accounts?
I see a lot of members here on a DAILY basis make these ridiculous arguments.
PP sucks! Let me state that for the record!
They are not fair. They could care less about you or your family.
PayPal can and will do ANYthing they want whether it's fair or not.
Don't leave your money in PPs hands. |
| Sandy D | 02-17-2013 10:30 PM | LOL
123 post in 5 years tells me they have been off the board more then on.
What we tell people is things change all the time and you really need to stick with it and be on the boards often to catch the changes when they hit.
ROFLMAO
OP has been here for 5 years and has 123 post.
Rsot has been here for 1 year and has 18,000 post.
Sorry Rsot, I had to do that.

| corleone | 02-17-2013 10:43 PM | What's the big deal? So wait the 6 months, collect your money and stiff ebay for the fees to compensate for the interest paypal made on that money. You'll come out on top. |
| zoneout | 02-18-2013 12:32 AM | Something doesn`t add up here so please help me understand this...
1) You said your PP is NOT linked to your eb account. so
2) Why would PP out of the blue limit you for something you are selling on eb? You say it was legit item - I believe you. But even if it was something shady - wouldn`t you be getting notices from eb NOT PP that the item was risky and they pull your listings down?
3) The notice you posted from PP mentions nothing about selling risky items. It just says your account is risky.
Putting 2+2 together I would venture to say the PP limitation has nothing to do with the eb sales. Probably Greenbean is correct - there is more to this than you are saying or more than you realize. |

Leave only eb fees and a few refunds in the account a get the rest the heck out. |
| oompaloompa | 02-18-2013 06:41 AM | I find it hard to accept that they will allow you to withdraw their fees too....regardless of the method you chose to pay eg. card...not been in this situation myself but it is common sense. |
| GreenBean | 02-18-2013 06:53 AM | Common sense paypal & ebay in the sentence never happens.
