| | | LoopHole | 02-16-2013 08:52 PM | Do you guys think its possible? Do you think its possible to make a high limit account without doing the requesting higher selling limits thing?
I've been watching this guy for a while now, and his brand new accounts always seem to have a high limit. Not exactly sure but i know for a fact they are over 2k and 20items.
And yes, i know there are chances where you get a good limit right off the bat. But this guy seems to get it right every time. |
| corleone | 02-16-2013 08:54 PM | There are ways, but it's hit and miss. I don't try to push for high limits though, it's pointless with the SSN requirements by paypal. |
| Sandy D | 02-16-2013 10:00 PM | How do you know what his limits are? |
| Furious George | 02-16-2013 11:18 PM | I would assume it's inferred by the number of active listings the person has. It would give you an idea at least.
My question is, how do you know he's not linking all of the accounts to get the higher limits? |

Merely 'observing' a seller and knowing his MO are two different matters.
What is the age of the account ( roughly) Category of listings ( broadly speaking)
Is he USA based or foreign? Personal or business?
Have you considered he may have it linked to another good standing account.

They are all USA accounts. They are literally brand new with 0 feedback. Most are a week old. PP's are personal/premier. |

I don't, maybe that is what he is doing. In that case, he sure as hell is doing a lot of linking. |
@Loophole, why not experiment with creating accounts and see if you can find a winning combination? I know I have been trying :) |
| zoneout | 02-17-2013 04:49 AM | If I were a betting man I`d say he has inside connections. |
| Futuremogul888 | 02-17-2013 06:06 AM | I know the general consensus is that getting higher then normal (like 30/2000 or 100/5000) selling limits on a brand new account is random and just the luck of the draw. I do not believe that anything is random. I believe that there is a method to doing this that triggers such a result based on the many crazy pieces of data that Ebay gathers on new accounts. If we experiment enough we will figure it out and will be able to consistently get high limit starting points on our new stealth accounts. |
| boost | 02-17-2013 11:24 AM | It's easy - he creates a new account and when he makes his seller account, he clicks "i already have an established account". The selling limit gets transferred over to the new account. ALTHOUGH, when using this method, you will still have category restrictions and you will still have to get the feedback established. |

| LoopHole | 02-17-2013 01:52 PM | It has been confirmed. Accounts have not been linked to any established account or accounts. Don't ask me how i know this :) |

I've had new accounts where I called for a mc999 and after saying the right things, got a 100/5000 limit without listing a thing(called to verify, said the right things and got it). I alway's act like a complete newbie, as a few questions and sometimes I get lucky.
It's possible they found a glitch in the system, or like someone else said, it's possible they have an inside connection. . .or my first thought. . .have you thought that maybe they work for ebay and are manipulating the sytem for their own benefit?
Like I originally said, I don't push for those limits because of the paypal SSN requirements. I'd much rather have 10 accounts with 10/100 than 1 account with 100/10,000 limits.
In December I was really pushing the limits, so we called a few times and got our limits increased and really went full throttle. I won't be trying any of that for the next 10 months because it really serves no purpose, I'll just face the tax id issue with paypal if I do. |
| cantzme | 02-17-2013 10:44 PM | I created a brand new selling account about 6 months ago with a family members info, all it took was a call to ebay and some BS story and got 100/5000, I actually asked for 200 items since I was going to be listing alot of items and $ value wasn't a problem, and they said the best they could do was 100/5000, I did link it to an aged PP account, maybe that did the trick? I'm not sure... |
| Futuremogul888 | 02-17-2013 11:45 PM | No what did the trick is that you used a verifiable real person and you took the huge risk of calling. We are talking about completely stealth and ideally without having to involve a single ebay rep. |
