Puzzled to how listing an item got me linked!
 

So I had a stealth account before..it got closed because i used the same VCC on another account. I thought dumbass mistake so fair dues it got limited and they didnt accept my ID.
So I decided to make a new paypal on windows as a user..and create the ebay/paypal together on this username and tether using blackberry...
done that for months..then i listed a item yesterday and got the following message today

MC999 Selling limits have changed on your eBay account - *****

Dear ***ERASED BY USER****

Based on your account information and activity, it looks like user ID *********** is associated with your account. This usually indicates that both accounts belong to the same person.

Because the other account is restricted or otherwise not meeting minimum seller standards, at this time, you won't be able to sell any additional items.

You can begin selling again by resolving any open issues with the associated account. We've already sent instructions for resolving these issues to the email address registered to that account.

..I've been through everything..paypal..ebay..telephone numbers..i can't think how it got linked..the only thing i can think is perhaps my blackberry generated the same IP address once? But i've never known it to do that..
The only other thing I could think was i viewed the item from another IP (the one the previous username i set up was on)..that and that i used the same IP to view my hotmail which the ebays attached too..

- The weirder thing..my paypal hasnt been limited..when i log on ebay.there's no limitation or restriction...jsut those messages in my inbox

1. Did they correctly identify the linked account?
2. Did you sell something really similar or list an identical auction as from your linked account?

99% of the time this is the result of cookies getting you linked which means basically you slipped up somewhere.

It happens, no matter how careful you think you are it happens

Using the blackberry caused the link.

Did you clear everything B4 making the new user account?

What mobile ISP are you using?

I noticed when I tethered with my iphone 5 it grabbed
the wireless connection and used the same ip as my ISP
so make sure its USB only and wireless if off!
or even better get a usb dongle there good to go and faster

Hi, in answer to your questions:

- I never listed the item on any other account
- I made a new windows user account which yeah stupidly was called 'Paypal' - so maybe that was the slip up? (I didn't read about not doing this till I saw another thread)
- I tethered using the blackberry desktop manager on my computer..am thinking perhaps it generated a similiar IP but i've just tested it 10 times and it was different IP every time..I do have CC cleaner..but i didn't update it.just realised it has a update..is this perhaps how i was linked? :s

I just want to know now..so I can make sure it doesn't happen again..

I suppose now my paypal that was linked to this ebay is useless?

Name of the new windows user account has no play in getting linked.

As for the pp - you can use it for other things than eB if you want
