Default Call in for selling limit

Just called for a stealth account after 60 days, 8 feedback and asked for an increase in my selling limit. Not holding out and expecting an ID document check.

I was asked NO ID questions and asked how much limit do I want???

Not being greedy I said I am selling 3 items a day at the moment with a 10 item a month selling limit so 90 items would be OK to start!

The guy said no problem, you're ready to get listing, I've changed the limit to 90 per month.

Must have been my seductive female tone.....

Was it just item number increase? Did they change the amount you can earn too?

90 items $6000 a month, I think the $'s is correct there he asked me what the average price was and I said about 50 bucks maybe more, I was very vague. He didn't seem to care and was asking if 90 was enough, if not just call again if you sell upto it.

He was pretty cool, not really interested in any questions. Maybe I caught he just before his break and he wanted to get off because previous times I called I get the usual business plan questions.

I made one phone call and got no limits after it. If they see you been selling for a while and you got feedback and you are not selling high risk items then you'll get the limits raised.

Low risk items is the key, in my case.

you have to be careful when you call for limits, be sure you have back up accounts, they often will ask for id/look closely/ban

I have always phoned for all my accounts and never had a problem, i am low risk but I also have ID/docs backed up ready. Preparation is paramount.
The way you speak, and the tone of your voice, when dealing with customer support can also help in my opinion.

ton of voice is definitly important, if you're nice and sound like an individual seller (doesn't hurt to ask questions nicely about ebay) then they could raise your limit, but it definitly helps to sell low risk until you call them, otherwise there is a strong possibility of id check

That's so stupid, they ban an account for selling things. Isn't that the point of selling on ebay??? WOW Their rules...I swear.

one time I decide to call eBay to raise selling limit, the guy over there ask me for ID, I decide not giving him any, that account jump from 100 to 350 in one month.

In the account that was limited last year, I jump from 100 too 300 to 500 and 1000. In the end, PP limit me because they see the money come in too fast, despite that all of my items are legit (no VERO, low price, almost zero complaint.)

So, while I congratulate you for the success, I would hold back, because eBay is the least of your problem (assuming you are selling safe and legit items), PP is the real deal, the big bad that spawned from the depth of hell.

That is so stupid of them to do that. What if this is your full time business and you quit your job for that? WOW I'd call complain say I do this 18 hours a day. What's too fast for pp??? Can't a person be happy in life? WOW

They simply dont care about you as a person. The call center people are trained like dirty debt collectors to make sure they suck every bit on info they can out about you so they can dump the account.

Many fall for it and some get lucky.

Still very lame, someone out of business means no money for them in that category field. And not everyone can jump into any field.

They simply dont care about you as a person. They are running a business that has little to no competition and they know it. So they can play dirty all day long.

For me my goal is to make sure I am prepared for anything they toss at me.

I wont allow them to defeat me and stop me from making a good income ever again.

They actually have taught me to learn more and more with their little games.

Right now I am beating them at their own game and so are many our fellow members.

I agree with Sandy..these people have no heart or soul.
A long time ago paypal limited a transaction for £800 i did for a laptop. The seller thought i was some scammer and had filed a dispute after she had sent the item. So she decided to come to my house with 2-3 guys. Luckily for her i'm pretty street smart+ brainy..so I wasn't intimidated. I asked her to come in and explained the money had left my account and i hadn't opened any dispute..so I called paypal and they said the funds had been temporarily held as the seller had tried to instantly withdraw them, it was nothing to do with my account. Once i explained the seller was sat right next to me with 3 guys+ the situation..(the seller had driver 2 hours)..the paypal guy released the funds..and he wasn't happy about it at all..i said to him, would you like to speak with the seller and confirm they're here..no no i don't have time said the rep..and i said so they'll be able to withdraw now no problems..rep: yeah obviously..- no soul no heart.
Like Sandy said, they're trained to not give any care..i could have been pummelled or put in hospital thanks to paypal but luckily i handled the situation well and well got a rep who knew i was speaking truth..

Dang MH88 that totally blows. I read someone on the forums had called and threaten a buyer and they got kicked off ebay for it. That totally blows.

You can get your limits raised to a almost whatever you want (as long as its not an absurd request) whenever you want (no matter the age of the account)...its all in how you present yourself to eBay.
