New setup - critics.. advise (greenbean etc) ;)

So have been planning a new PayPal account and want to see what you guy's think.. some things i have not finalized or unsure of.

1) New bank account - I currently have accounts at Barclay's, business and personal and called them to see if i could setup a second business account which they agreed I can do..

2) VCC - might use the debit card i get issued with the new account as usually the card comes in the business name.. ie. Trading as.. not sure though.. looked into Entropay and that looks like a good option to.

3) Address - I have a few options here. a) use my friends address b) my step fathers work address c) step fathers other home address.

4) Identity - Okay this is where i am stuck slightly.. really not sure which way to go with this. What would be better to use in UK name variation or relative/friend ?? I want a business paypal account and need to use web payments pro. So i am going to need to provide docs.


For a new phone number i will simply call 02 and tell them to change my number, is that possible? The phone contract is 02 simplicity and is in my name.. not sure if PayPal can check those details.

My goal here is to have a PP account which is scalable and long term if possible.

Any advise critics welcome.

Would you say using a name variation would be good to build up a long term account that is scalable? Obviously there are issues with docs etc.

Also if i simple change my contract phone number what that suffice? I'm sure 02 allow for number changes however is in my name... PP/EB can not know that though i presume?

Better to have a completely different name. Name variations increase the chance of being linked to your real details - not good if they were suspended.

Any potential issues with docs can be overcome.

I'm confused about how to work Entropay, i created my first vcard today but some have said to add sub vcc? why do people do that?

Also i registered with entro with my real details, so does Paypal not check the real name and address? I thought they would of checked to see if the addresses match.. no?

You created sub vcc in order to have more cards - you can use the main vcc but that you only get 1 so you create more for other accounts.

PP has NO affiliation with EP (yet) so they will not check your entro details. EP cards will match with ANY address so you dont need to change the address details on your EP account.

As for the name variation deal, Ebayorbust does have a valid point. Docs can be used to overcome any problems. Name variation also works but a link is possible if manual review is done BUT name variation + new address is less likely to cause any problems

Just a thought, i had a previously suspended account around 2007, it used my real name. Later around 2008 i think, i had moved address and opened a new bank account and then opened a new PP and EB account in my real name again... it worked and had no issues. Of course that is until i fudged up lately with a high refund rate and my PP account was closed, but it was only due to that and i believe had nothing to do with the name.

So, what if i just opened a new PP account under my real name with a new address and another bank.. risky? worked before however there was some time before opening a new account.. maybe too soon for now. Risky? Dunno but food for thought.

In my personal experience, they catch up with you and suddenly they've seized everything in your account for 6 months..

I'd say that your fudge-up drew attention and then they acted when they looked. If you set up in the same name again you're playing a game of PP Buckeroo. Could also have been that because it was back in 2007, it was off their system, an older system too - long time to wait!

4) friends identity as long as they don't have a eBay or PayPal account at that address

5) get a dongle and create about 4 stealth accounts and use a second pc to run them off!

With 3) and 4) make sure they are either friends who will NEVER want a PP / eB account or they are friends you're prepared to ditch in the future when they do and they realise they're banned from everything..

Well they do have PP and EB accounts, but they use them very rarely i think if they got banned they wouldn't even care lol

Was thinking i could use my mother's identity, she has never passed on docs to paypal before.. the only issue is the address because i used the same address as the address she currently lives at.. but i guess that only shows on utility bill and can be changed somehow.
