Be careful of this scam guys

Right this has happened to me a few times now, basically what it is that once your listing is ended the scammer messages you so "oh hello this has stopped working after a week could you please send me a new one of refund"
I would reply back saying yes i can send out a replacement or refund, they reply straight away to your message.

So i go to check on my listing but i cannot find the users id so this obviously means they havent purchased it and i message them saying that i cannot find your purchased item and this time you get NO reply.

So if your smart you would know its a scam but for someone who is naive and doesnt know much they would end up sending a replacement or refund via probably an invoice.

so just becareful dont want you to lose out on something you dont deserve

Good tip to put up especially if someone has a huge volume of sales - easy to miss

Batman 03-17-2013 11:30 AM

exactly what i mean

oompaloompa 03-17-2013 11:33 AM

they would maybe send a replacement if really busy... but doubt they would send a refund without an order look-up, you need to refund via the original payment...

i know, hence why i wrote they would send it via invoice since they wouldnt be able to find it.

Stigger 03-17-2013 12:53 PM

Batman 03-17-2013 01:06 PM

AmazonStealth 03-17-2013 01:26 PM

What a joke. I am sure they are getting at least 10% of people to fall for this, and selling them on different accounts. You may want to use the new report button on this p.o.s.

Batman 03-17-2013 01:34 PM

Tbh i just ignored it as i dont want to report or contact ebay in any way. But yes they surely must be having people falling for this.

You implied you had by using the words this happened to me several times in your opening post

Re-read what you said.....

:peace:

Batman 03-19-2013 04:22 AM

I dont think any of you understand what im trying to say, yes i said it happened to me as in the scammers contacted me with the same scam a few times but i didnt refund or replace.

I'm not trying to argue but just stating my point because I think some are misunderstood

oompaloompa 03-22-2013 02:23 PM

@batman I got what you were saying from your first post, you were just warning us, appreciate it...

I am not sure though if a seller would fall for it though regardless, even a noob....also it may be possible the buyer made a mistake and looked up the product under a search and thought he bought from you...one way to find out goofbid (directs you to ebay login) you can see his bid history....

If 10% are too dumb or lazy to check into it then they deserve to lose their money.
I can't imagine anyone being that dumb though..

Someone actually tried to pull this scam on me too. I searched his eBay username in my gmail (so I can get his address) and found nothing. Told him to F off
