MC124 Worth Fighting?

Hi Guys,

I just got a MC124 warning. It's asked me to provide:

Front and back copy of your ID or passport.
- Copy of a document showing your address (if different from what is displayed on your identity document)

In addition, we ask you to provide a proof of ownership of the goods I sold.

I think I know why this has happened. 3 weeks ago I opened a new stealth account. Everything was ok sold, 10 items etc. Got good feedback for all items. Today I opened another account with the same details and paypal account and listed one item. I've received the MC124 warnings on both accounts. I've cloed the account I created today.

The message states if I don't send the info within 72 hours the account will be suspended.

I'm learning all the time with this. Not as easy as it was a few years ago.

Thanks for your help.

Argh..man why did you open an account with the same details? That right there is EXACTLY your problem. To be fair it's a 50/50 thing..depends on who reviews your account

When eB ask 'Front and back copy of your ID', is sending the back copy absolutely essential?

Ebayorbust 03-26-2013 09:49 AM

If they ask for it, then send it in.

SimpleX 03-26-2013 10:56 AM

I always thought the front copy of a ID was good enough. The asking for the back copy of ID is completely new to me.

Ebay have been asking for rear of DL for quite a while. Paypal only ever ask for the front.

If you do not send them everything they ask for in most cases it delays the decision or they just drop it.

Re: MC124 Worth Fighting?

I picked up one of these on a new account (doing a bit of experimenting ;) ) I sent in the required info about 4 days ago but have heard nothing since.

I was pushing the selling on an unverified account to see what was possible. If the account gets axed it wont be any great loss.

I'll report back whether or not the account gets re-instated.

Freakzilla 03-29-2013 09:14 AM

I sent mine in on Saturday and still haven't heard back.

Fingers crossed

So 5 fays have passed? Ring them up and push then.

GreenBean 03-29-2013 06:13 PM

What are fays????

Do you mean for the fays to be rung up and where should they be pushed?

Dunno, just dunno.

Going that fast in a car and posting on the forum...

I dont think anything posted here is worth risking your life for.

Freakzilla 03-30-2013 05:40 AM

Both accounts suspended today. Putting it down to all part of the learning process. Won't be making that mistake again.

GreenBean 03-30-2013 05:48 AM

@'zilla

Any clues for you to pinpoint the issues and not repeat?

I know you mentioned a 2nd account. Do you think they got you for trying to avoid selling limits?
:peace:

Freakzilla 03-30-2013 05:53 AM

I got limited within hours of the second seller account being created. So I think it must be that. I think it must of looked dodgy a "new" seller opening 2 ebay selling accounts within a few weeks.

Either they thought I was trying to avoid selling limits, or just didn't like having two seller accounts so quickly.

Just more knowledge for me against them for the future.

GreenBean 03-30-2013 06:03 AM

Sounds like what they might do and a pain for you.

:tears:
