Should I walk away?
 

I created an LLC in my state. Got an EIN etc. I have many other Stealth accounts, but wanted to create one more long term and go over the 200/20,000 limits. So I create the Paypal account. I created it with a fictitious name that was a strange variation of my own. I put in my business name. I DID NOT provide the EIN, so no linking that. I put in an address that I have of an mailbox store address I have again not linked to anything else. Put in a bank account to confirm. Got a phone etc and a Vanilla Mastercard for VCC. I confirmed the VCC and the bank. No issues. Then this morning got the notice that there were strange activity on the VCC. Called in as my fictitious user to see the issue. They want me to confirm identity on this card.

1. Should I walk away and burn the account?
2. I can't think of why they would ask for this? Is it because it was a business account? Again I provided NO EIN number.
3. Nothing was linked to my current good standing account or stealth's. I have heard Paypal does this at random.

The customer rep said Paypal does not like or allow the Vanilla cards yet I have had no issues with them on any other accounts....

Any others experience this?

So you actually got a message from PAYPAL and not ebay?

Define the message more. Vanilla cards are not always an issue

this is an account where you spent the bucks to make an EIN & at the moment is a stand alone account?

Yes it is standalone.
1. has its own VPS server with unique IP and does not share with other accounts
2. Own phone number
3. Own Paypal not linked
4. Own address not linked to anything else
5. Own bank account
6. Own VCC not linked

I DID not submit my EIN. They only have the name I put in there is all. The VCC is confirmed and so is the bank accounts. They are asking for picture ID. I told the Paypal person it was a business address. They want my home address since I represent the business. That does make sense to me since it is an LLC.

if you burn the account arent you burning all the info associated with it that you worked hard on getting in the first place?

Agree but at this point i am not sure what I can do? Any suggestions?

what are they asking for you to do to confirm identity of the card?

They are asking to upload or fax a couple of a drivers license, passport or military card. I used a variation of my real name for the account.

They have a section in there to modify the name. Since it is just a small variation from my acutal I could change it, but then it could be linked? Because it won't have the mailing address on the registered address...Crap passed the landline test...Would hate to lose this account...

I asked Green Bean to move this thread to the subscribed area. New here and didn't realize this was here until yesterday. Was hoping some of the Guru's could make some opinions. They don't really cover this in the guide...

When I opened this account I followed the rules. They asked for three verification's. Two of which I passed. This is the last one. I noticed in Paypal that when your account is limited and they state if you want to change the name you can. I selected this choice and there is a place where it states you can change your name for reason like if you put in using a nickname, fictitious name, or made an error. Says I can select "Incorrect name at sign up or minor name change.

The name I used was my middle name and my last name with one letter changed. I am wondering if I should change the last name the single letter to match mine. Then send in my passport which has my last name not my first. But I want to be careful of linking to my main account. That account is not suspended, only limited for another two weeks. Not sure if they are smart enough to correlate the two? I bet if they did a database search they have to have 10,000 names that are the first name last name....

Thoughts?

exactly, sending your passport would link you to an original prior banned acc, plus it does not match the account details anyway....

Been searching . Should of researched before saying anything to ya. Question though. Since I have this as a business account and plan to put in my EIN number, if and when they send a 1099 tax doc, since they have my EIN and business name will they only send the 1099 for that?

Or will they put my name that I put in on that as well. Might be hard to explain to the IRS there...Its strange that Paypal requires so much as a person of an LLC, because an LLC can have many partners and the business pays taxes, not the user, but wonder how Paypal handles that?
