SELLING LIMITS OUT THE ROOF!! But ---------

What is going on, some have discussed getting some decent raises but I wanted to share mine and my thoughts about those raises.

Mind I rotate account around and sometimes dont get back to account for 2 weeks or so other then to withdraw funds etc.

Was peaking at the next group of accounts I will be running items for sale this Sunday and the first one I went to was a newer account, 85 days old, 11 feedback and 10-1000 limits.

Had to look twice because it went to 100 and 5000

Continued...

Account 2 5 months old 35 fb 10-1000 another 100 and 5000
Account 3 1 year old 225 fb 50-1500 to-------300 and 7500
Account 4 2 years old 450 fb 300-4000 to----- 800 and 8000
Account 5 8 months old 75 fb 30-3000 to---- 100 and 5000
Account 6 14 months old 310 fb from 100-3000 to---- 350-5000

Stopped at that point because I got tired but we had discussed some of us got raised around the 12th and I had not been on these particular account since and now see them on these accounts.

My thoughts never trusting ebay or paypal of course is they are setting us up. They want to see how many people are stupid enough to sell like crazy this early in the year and get the old "potential" to sell 200/20000 so they can nail you for the ssn request.

Just my opinion by as sneaky as they are I can see them trying to pull this one off.

So be careful with your sales, sometimes selling a 100 this month and another 100 next months looks great until you get limited and have to provide them with the kitchen sink.

Answer is to spread your sales out over the year on each account. I wont go crazy with selling a bunch on one account, I keep track of each accounts total sales and items sold so I will be careful and spread them out over the months left.

Consider having an EIN attached now.

Is this a business account?

You need to consider several angles, imo.

You have to protect this account. Do not let it become victim to as yet unplayed paypal games, yet sell to your max.
And consider making other accounts.

This depends on your own business plan. If you sell to your limits, & they keep getting raised, then exclude paypal ever needing to ask for an SSN

I agree with GB.

Protect yourself and or spread your sales out over multiple accounts and like she said, get an EIN right now.

Bear in mind, paypal put the news of IRS needs out in late 2009.

Since then, they have become trickier by the month for we ( stealth) sellers.

If you have the chance to get an EIN, that's great.

If you have the chance to make more stealth accounts, that's great.

What you do is operate to beat paypal.

And that is ACES!!!!
:pop2:

Guys only problem is, a friend of my family allowed me to use info. How can i attach an ein with his name being on the account?

Bunneh 03-26-2013 06:08 AM

not another one

It is not wise to use a friend or relatives account.
There is a lot of risks, nothing positive ever comes from doing this.

What is the difference using stealth? It is not you regardless, so safer to go stealth, this way no one gets hurt.

Well I never start selling as crazy after lift of selling limits. Never lose vigilance! These guys are just waiting for that.

t1tm1t 03-26-2013 07:59 AM

I share same thought with Sandy, from my experience: my account 10/1000 raised to 100/5000 after 3,5 months with about 40fbs, I boosted the sale very soon after the selling limit was raised. I got ebay email asking for invoice, ssn, proof of address once I reach 1,5k sale on 4th months.

so, even your selling limited is raised, still keep flying low, under the radar!!!!

They sure are just waiting for someone to make a mistake.

Bunneh 03-26-2013 10:21 AM

either that, or because of the vast number of people here getting such huge increases, perhaps ebay are in trouble (to many suspensions) and need us to sell more. :juggle:

Sandy D 03-26-2013 10:24 AM

Nah they have record profits the last quarter.

Remember when I posted they are sneaky and wanted to fix their image like pp?

Well, they are very good at "look what we have done to help our fabulous sellers out" and then turned around and smack you in the head by sneak attack from behind.

When they do anything that appears to be for the good of, watch out.

suspendedfoe 03-26-2013 10:42 AM

At bunneh this acc was made last yr i wasnt in stealth mode...., everyone has different situations... Also im learning from mistakes, sandy has been helping me out alot...just remember everyday you learn something if that wasnt the case then it wouldnt be here

this definitely makes the most sense. they know that people are going to avoid ss# as much as possible so why not let the fish come to them

Sandy D 03-26-2013 03:43 PM

Exactly Slim.

They are a sneaky bunch and I know they hired outside consultants to help them with their image. Same as paypal so they had to do something to make people think they are out there working hard for us but in the background they are just tossing out the bait.

newjerseymax 04-02-2013 02:45 PM

I fell for that trap. I used half my limits and it was paypal that had an issue not ebay

I can smell a scam by ebay a mile away.

When they put out word they are changing to help you be prepared because they have a knife ready to stab you in another way.

I warned people here about this early on when I found out they have hired a team of consultants to come in and teach their management how to treat people.

Then went to work on how to unwind what they were taught and screw over the same people they thought were stupid enough to fall for that trap.

I called this one and many have let me know they fell for it too NJMax.

Increases limits are not what they are made out to be because of the new requirements.

Spreading sales like I have posted about for a long time is the answer.

Sandy D 04-02-2013 09:25 PM

Checked on two accounts I did not list on last month.

Both of them went from 10/1000 to 100/5000.

Great thing is one has 3 feedback and one has 9 feedback.

So I can hit them with a few items here and there and once I hit some decent sales let them sit for a few months for Christmas season selling.
