US Dude with a Canadian account

I see that you can get a Canadian Ebay and Paypal account. Use a VPS/VPN IP provider and hook a US VBA account to it. So since they don't require a US SSN, what do they require? I am sure it can't be that easy. What are the requirements for these accounts? Any issues shipping?

Same rules as US accounts... at $20,000 they start asking for SIN (equivalent to SSN).

If you are worried about the SSN# then you should spread your sales across many accounts so you don't reach the $20k.

All that glitters is not gold.

Issues exist with Canadian accounts just as they exist with any other country.

Preferable approach is to run your own country's accounts in the best manner to reduce problems. Your options are so much better.

ps, here's a hint to put you OFF going the way of Canadian accounts: Canada Post

Look at the BIG PICTURE not the narrow one of easy way out.

Like GB mentionned, Ebay Canada is pretty much the same as US. There's no advantageous loophole or anything. I just prefer it because I ship from here and I like to use the Canada Post labels with Paypal... I can't for my US accounts.

Thanks for the feedback. Super helpful. Will be sticking in the usa

US eB and PP have so many options to work with for cc, phone, vba - cheaper services in general in the US too.

I have a few Can accounts and ran into the SIN issue, so there is no advantage there. I still love my LUX accounts though.

Where are you getting this information from by the way? I personally have accounts that has exceeded $20K and has never been asked for SIN. Last time when I checked entering your SIN number has always been optional with Paypal(if Paypal even gives you the option to enter it) because unlike the united states we have laws protecting our privacy and prevents companies from arbitrary force you to surrender your SIN unless you are applying for products that involves credits or creditors.

That absolutely is not true to be honest. I cannot get into specific details but if you use Paypal "deep" enough, you'd know that Canadian Paypal accounts are indeed slightly more advantageous at certain things if you treat your account right. Generally speaking, it makes almost no difference for everyday risks such as limitations and whatnot.

That's their stated rule, it doesn't mean it can/will apply to EVERY account, much like the odd US one.

Ok, well there's some stuff. The default new account is 10/$1000 and thankfully there's no public database information, so when you call in for MC999, just seem confident and they'll take your word for it. With US accounts you will usually get the "sorry we cannot find you in our public records".

I hear that BiN4RY - you explore it well :)

SIN is not really considered ID for Canadian pp - they want photo ID with limitation - Driver`s license or passport for example.

Other issues need to be considered.

Operating stealth in your own country before venturing into international avenues may be more benefical.

Takes plenty of hard work and practice in any country.
