best way to track ips you have used

I am scared that two months from now i will have so many ips to track. How do you guys track them, the people making a zillion accounts please help!

hazy 04-14-2013 08:18 PM

Excel spreadsheet and search for duplicates every time you add a new ip

danshan 04-14-2013 08:40 PM

Really you go through all the ips used and also write down what account you used the ip on

hazy 04-14-2013 10:02 PM

You could just make 2 simple columns with one being the IP address and the other being the account it was used on. Every time you add a new ip, you select the ip column and run a search for duplicates. If no duplicates then you are good to go, if you get a duplicate but it was used on the same account you are attempting to use you are also good to go.

Back up the excel file in 2-3 separate aces every time. It is way too valuable to lose. Almost happened to me, so now I save it in 3 separate places.

danshan 04-14-2013 10:13 PM

Is thre any software that does this?

slim jim 04-14-2013 10:16 PM

download google drive on your computer, you can access the file through there, should you delete it by accident, it will still be in your trash when you log into google drive

Sandy D 04-14-2013 11:20 PM

For me I use an excel spreadsheet.

Works like a charm once you get all of yours lined up just sort them.

There is an excel spreadsheet one of our fellow members made for our members to use on the board somewhere.

If you have an iPhone or ipad there's a great app I use on my iPhone called ip view.

It will show your ip in one spot and in another it will list and save every ip you ever use.

You will know instantly if the ip is new because it will appear in the ip slot and also at top of the list on the bottom.

Works great

read both of the below threads

Shed load of info to help work out what to use.

That ip view app is nice. Excel also works.

Notepad is generic but does a nice list if you dont have so many accounts

danshan 04-15-2013 01:09 PM

so basically you have to copy paste and manually search through them ? seems like there should be some software.

MessWithTheBull 04-15-2013 01:51 PM

How often are any of you running into receiving the same IP address from the past?

danshan 04-15-2013 03:04 PM

I get old ones often

Maybe google "IP tracking software"? Do you use a smartphone? That IP view app is nice

danshan 04-15-2013 04:16 PM

The app is for android ? What is it actually called cant find it in google play?

That will depend more on your ISP.

Anything on a cellular network is operating within a reduced number of IPs.

The issue is usually how the account is created.

User accounts cookies should be enough to reduce worries about reusing an IP.

What is happening if you are concerned, 'Bull

:typing:

danshan 04-15-2013 07:01 PM

Mobile IPs are thin when I use mobile or dongle it often pops back same IP and I really dont think it is a major problem if cookies are intact but anyway I still fear linking anyway and do not want to have any IPS being the same because I have some good accounts and I have some really shaky accounts and def do not want them mixed. I am going to build software for this

danshan 04-15-2013 07:02 PM

anyone have any ideas of the features this software would need to have

1. track IPS
2. allow us to label IPS we used
3. tell us if we used IP before

anything else would be great give me some ideas I will do it tonight

hardybents 04-16-2013 08:00 PM

just a question. but this seems like a lot of work? why not just connect thru a vps and use the same ip for each individual account. to each their own and if it works all the more power to you, for me it's just so much easier, it's more expensive but IMO easier

danshan 04-16-2013 08:27 PM

Is easier and I use vps's for small accounts but for accounts that need huge numbers and lots of action vps just wont cut it. I think and I think everyone agrees pp and ebay can see vps's and i think that is another flag down the road. Im not certain of this just my personal experience. Ip rotation with users is the absolute cleanest method

hardybents 04-16-2013 09:15 PM

put ur own box in the center. then it's yours? all I'm sayin

danshan 04-16-2013 09:53 PM

I dont understand clarify for me put a box in the center?

heil86 04-17-2013 05:19 AM

he's referring to putting a server into a datacenter. this would be considered 'co-location' by most hosting companies. you could also rent a dedicated server with a block of IP addresses, each one assigned to a user account..

TonyAlmeida 04-17-2013 08:41 AM

danshan 04-17-2013 11:21 AM

it looks complicated and it looks like more clicks than just hitting search in a google doc

so basically a VPS?

jamblix 04-17-2013 08:32 PM

I used to think about this too. Solution is real simple: Wordpad. Find your new IP, copy and paste it into Wordpad "find" option and see if it has been previously used. If not, paste it under the eB acc name you're about to sign into and done.

----------------------
EX.

eB acc name1
123.123.123.123
123.123.123.123
123.123.123.123
123.123.123.123

eB acc name2
123.123.123.123
123.123.123.123
123.123.123.123
123.123.123.123

Etc.

-----------------------

Seems crude, it is what it is and it works. Been using this method for years now telling myself in the beginning "I'll find a better way" haven't found one yet. I'm up to 10+ pages of IPs, still works like a charm. Don't forget to always check and double check you're listing the IP in the right place though. I use a USB flash drive and save the doc in there to make things easier switching to and fro accounts.

If people were interested I could write an automated excel file that will download your IP, add it to the IP address column and run a search for duplicates. It will produce a message box saying if duplicates were found or not, and what your current IP is.

Also, it could match the IP address to an account so if necessary you would know which IP addresses belonged with each account.

TonyAlmeida 04-18-2013 10:34 AM

Please, please,

I think everyone here interested with this.

Thank you

I've got an excellent excel sheet from a user here.

danshan 04-18-2013 04:41 PM

that is good but too much work and no way to search them really I hate making mistakes one IP stepped on another IP costs me 20-30 bucks each

vp.racer 04-19-2013 07:46 AM

It is with formulas and when you add an old ip, it warn you that is duplicate ip !

TonyAlmeida 04-19-2013 08:38 AM

I tried but doesn't work for me or I don't know how to use this

Thanks

rsot 04-19-2013 12:00 PM

looking forward to see what HunterStudios can do :) Pm sent

HunterStudios 04-22-2013 06:19 PM

Glad to see everybody will have a use for this, I am almost done. I am just doing some troubleshooting to ensure everything will work alright and then I will post it!

danshan 04-22-2013 07:27 PM

Great excited let me know whats up

HunterStudios 04-22-2013 09:21 PM

Alright here is version 1, I have intentions to update it and give it more functionality as stated in the readme but it is finals week for me so I am busy. I just wanted to get up what I have so everybody isn't waiting around.

I will make my new version update itself with the data in this file so feel free to start using this one. Here is the link: Download

It is a Google Drive link so once in Google Drive go to File----> Download to download the rar file.

Let me know what additional features would be helpful and I will add them in. So far I have tested this on Windows 8 x64 and Windows 7 x64 with UAC turned off. I'm not sure if that'll make a difference but thought I'd let you know what environment it has been working in for me.

Also rsot, I'm not sure I got your PM so maybe send me another?

Thanks guys.
