Question about a case?
 
I have a long standing stealth account.
40 Feedback, all positive and no other cases. Accounts been selling since November.

Had a buyer purchase something from me on feb 12th and on march 12th they opened an INR case.
Low and behold, I checked the tracking and it was floating in limbo since the buyer never picked it up from the P.O. (Ive since received the items back)
The buyer escalated the case and I got the whole 'ebay will get back to you in 48 hours, we need more time to review, blah blah blah'

The thing is, the case is still open now (april 20th) O.o?
The buyer got his refund on the 13th of march when I was aware of the case.

I DON'T want to call them.
I would like to know what/if others have had a similar issue and what was done/if anything?

Wouldn't want to lose the account and it doesn't appear to be counting towards any cases monthly. :shocked:

did you refund via the case? or just send the buyer money via paypal?
because if you refund via a case, it closes automatically...

i wouldn't ring them, i would email them with proof of the refund and the date you refunded

also ask the buyer to email them too if they don't mind doing so, same again proof of and date

could be a glitch and i personally wont worry about it unless it starts to cause a problem

I wouldnt call either - the case should automatically close out over time - just keep proof that you have refunded.

In the event that they double refund (rare) then you will to call them up

I have got away with just emailing or doing chat to handle a double refund as well, but that has been a good 6 months ago since that last happened.

Sorry for the late reply all.

But I refunded via paypal.
I had the money in the account but it did not take the funds?

Started the transfer from my BA and was completed.

To date: the case is still open.

I wont ring them though.

@cjmixers, you have proof of the refund so that's all you need to do - let the system close it out - dont rattle the cage. Continue normal operations I would say
