I got a limit increase, are my holds gone now?

Signed into eB a few hours ago to see my limits were raised from 10/1000 to 50/5000.

The account is around 7 months old but I've only been selling on it for 3.

Just wondering if this determines if the payment holds are also removed? I listed 3 items after I seen the limit increase but I'm anxious to know if the payments will go straight through.

I know they can remove the holds when ever they feel like it and I also know they can put them back in place whenever they feel like it.

Has anyone experienced the holds being removed the day they got a limit raise?

I currently run about 7 high limit accounts but they were high limit when I bought them so I haven't experienced this yet.

Thanks.

why not try and list something and see if you get the hold page?

The hold page? Not sure what you're referring to but I did list something, it hasn't sold yet.

Only way I know to find out if the holds exist are to wait until the item sells.

My question is, has anyone experienced the payment holds being removed the day they get a limit increase.

Limit increase and holds are completely different - not related. I have had limit increases but still holds on the pp funds.

Yes, I know they're completely different. I just thought maybe sometimes they happen at the same time.

Just sold an item though and the limits are still there :(

Thanks for the info.

it's rare for that.

Maybe a chance within a few more weeks.

In late March, I had limits lifted on an account. 9 days later there were no more holds.( USA account)

@OP, the amount of sales you have done can also factor into the holds in place - give it another 10-15 sales as well for possible status change.

Speeder33 04-29-2013 05:38 PM

in most of my cases the 21 day hold is lifted not long after limits are raised

danshan 04-29-2013 09:13 PM

Go to list an item and when you setup the payment it tells you about availability of funds, you dont need to sell something and get payment to see if the account has holds

invince 04-29-2013 09:37 PM

It's really unrelated.
A week ago I got one of my big accounts restricted (because too many disputes regarding non-receive...), and I got my 21-day limit removed too.

No it's happened on 3 of my accounts this year. The holds will continue. Although I do notice after the limit increase the holds are not 100%. Some payments are not held at all, its about 50/50. I can't be sure if the limit increase and payment holds are related.

Just an update, the holds were removed the next day after the limit increase.

Grimmejaw 05-07-2013 06:40 PM

Yes, the ebay rule is you will get your limit increased after 90 days of your first initial sale, total transactions of at least 20 plus and at least $200 in those sales. After you have reach those requirement your limit on ebay will increase from 10/$1000 to 50 or 100 items/$5000. And your paypal holds will also be removed. But always be wary with ebay and paypal...anything could be changed in a flash.

Sandy D 05-07-2013 07:22 PM

It sure can.

Always be careful with limit increases, take it slow and steady.

So true.

Last December ebay played nasty games with limits.

Always need to operate with that in mind.

One account of mine has not had the hold lifted after the 20 sales "requirement" - 63 sales to date

danshan 05-08-2013 02:36 PM

Must be ninety days since first sale minimum of 26 transactions and 250 in sales

Great info, how did you get these exact numbers? or is this from your experience

danshan 05-08-2013 09:40 PM

From some sounded real ebay vetting supervisor and I confirmed this with a paypal limitation person

I don't know about this. Simply because pp and ebay have the ability to change the rules and make exceptions at moments notice.

I have heard pp say that too, but then they lifted the holds on an account that was brand new... so I don't know.

Some accounts I create have holds, others dont, and even others that do for about a month then gone, and some that only have a hold on some of the payments that come through.

My sales on those are nowhere near their "requirements" neither.. that's why I say I think their rules are just there-- but any rep can change them for you...

If you are not selling anything risky and you are doing a good job, keep selling.... but if not its a trap!
