looks to me they can definitely see your real ip address and definitely can link the accounts if they are setup with standard squid configuration. I have now 100% flipped from being a firm VPS supporter to a 1000% VPN. But not VPN in the normal sense it would be a private IP or VPS if you will setup to work as a vpn ( not buying a vpn which is shared by millions and is for sure blacklisted or at least grey listed. "flash they can see your real IP address and can also link the accounts if they are made from the same machine using VPS normally with squid config.
All these people think because one account works that this system works but it is not stressed. Like a bridge it may hold one car but as soon as you put two cars it folds. Famous onion layers of security. Paypal or ebay does not care about the IP or not much with 5 items sold all used under $300 dollars. They hand those limits out like candy but if you are really trying to build a strong long lasting account VPS IS NOT the way to go. I nor anyone besides paypal and ebay can say this 100% but I bet it is very true.
I know people will argue I have had my account for 45 years no limits sell everything on it and use VPS and it works, ok maybe but what is the real risk if they are providing tracking and setting up the account to build nice and slow so ebay and pp can trust you in a sense.
The real formula for a what I would call a stressed account or usable account
VPN setup correctly not a bought vpn
low risk items
build slow
if you are using squid vps's and you are using the same machine and IP behind the VPS believe it or not your accounts are linked.
prove it to yourself go to the link and see if you dont see your real ip on this page.
Also did you know that whatismyip and many many of the other check your ip sites sell the ips visiting their pages to ebay and pp and Craigslist, helps them with their blacklist and even most of the sites other than the big ones use an api from the big ones to create their websites and send your IP data to the big ones which in turn sell it. The only place to ever check your IP is on your own created Ip checker using php not a api to a big company |
@danshan
Are you saying that if I go to that website on each of my VPS's, they will all show the exact same IP? Next to the "My IP Address", correct?
...because my IPs show up differently just like they're supposed to for me.
There's a chance you might be mis-understand something about VPS's.
Did you go to a VPS company, purchase a VPS, and buy additional IPs for like $1 extra? Because that's the 1 way how NOT to set up a VPS for Stealth accounts...And the result in setting it up that way, and going to that website will always show you the same IP address. (Even despite connecting to the VPS under the different IPs you bought.) And it will be using the same machine. Unless I'm missing something here, that's the only way I can see how you came to those conclusions.
I usually check my IP with IPBurger anyway...If I remember correctly, aspkin created it and I would bet he definitely does not sell those IPs to eBay like you claim other sites do |
| danshan | 05-09-2013 09:39 PM | Yes under the interaction section part of the page you will see your real ip.
Ip address is your vps ip
Tcp NA
Udp NA
Flash this will show your real ip this is where you look to see the real ip
I think I have a very good understanding of VPS's but I am def open to learning more so any input would be greatly appreciated.
Ipburger depending how it is built may be getting IP info from one of the big sources or it may not only aspkin or whoever built it can answer that. |

Only thing worth noting that is the same, is the "IP range", the "ISP" and "Organization". I've been using the accounts for 6 months selling very similar items and no problems just yet. I'm not too worried though as I don't think those things matching mean a whole lot...
But as I asked, did you buy a VPS and pay $1 or $2 extra for additional IPs? |
| danshan | 05-09-2013 10:12 PM | What is your ip right next to flash? |
| danshan | 05-09-2013 10:14 PM | No i have separate accts from different providers. Maybe im not clear or something but unless you have flash disabled you will see your real ip right next to where it says flash |
| danshan | 05-10-2013 01:53 PM | I am just really curious why no one is chiming in on this? Is this not important? |
From what's I've seen, a lot of people here use VPS's and I'm sure if it was a major problem it would've spread like crazy by now. |
Still too short of a time for all to contribute - wait towards the weekend. I dont contribute on this because my experience with VPS limited. Just patiently let the thread grow. |
| oompaloompa | 05-11-2013 06:33 AM | it may just be what you can see, as you have sent the request.
but if flash is the issue, then disable your flash.....it does not affect ebay and paypal capabilities, all they need is cookies.... |
| hardybents | 05-11-2013 12:01 PM | i dont understand. You set up a vps. remote connect to the vps.. then connect to ebay, and they see your ip from your home/office/where ever?
What is wrong if you get yourself a cheap box, find a center, place multiple vps's on it...as many as it can handle, use one ip per vps, then connect, ebay will still see the ip on all vps? of the originating remote access computer??? How can this be? |
| hardybents | 05-11-2013 12:03 PM | Are you sure that you are actually not doing the ip check on your connection to the vps? |
| danshan | 05-12-2013 04:27 PM | if you are using a vps, they can see a couple things
if you have flash enabled they can see your real IP not the vps
they also can see your DNS and if you dont have your settings right in most cases this will show your home country for me not really an issue because I am in the US but for others I am sure this could be a big problem |
| hardybents | 05-13-2013 07:02 AM | Yep. Flash disabled for sure.
DNS not so sure about? This I have to double check, good point. I thought dns was more for domain checking and relating to ip addresses. More of a helo between sites. If connecting to e from vps not sure how e would grab your ip and not the vps. There is not a domain that needs authenticating? So wouldn't it just see vps ip. No emails are being sent so do you even need to set up the DNS?
Interesting point though. Would like to learn more from others on this? |
| danshan | 05-13-2013 12:22 PM | I think the moral of the story is everyone on the forum and everywhere else just says get a VPS it is better. But not only do you need a vps but you need to know how to set it up correctly and where and how to check it is displaying what you want it to display to eb and pp. |
| danshan | 05-13-2013 03:08 PM | Yes you got that from the stealth guide good advice |
