eBay's "Guard Rails"

I'm currently stuck on "guard rails" with eBay on one of my real accounts. This account has 100% positive feedback. However, it is below standard. Before going below standard, eBay placed its infamous "guard rails" on my account for at least 30 days. I was told the guard rails went on because I received 3 neutral feedbacks within a week and therefore my account was in risk of going south. Has anyone figured out a way to get off "guard rails"? I couldn't find any information on this any where in the forums.

Never heard of "Guard Rails".

The performance system that is plaguing everyone?

Only been one report on here that I recall

http://www.aspkin.com/forums/ebay-di...ness-plan.html

Pain in the ......

Sellers' Central had some rubbish about it. And when there were complaints, topic got deleted....not sure why

From what I recall, the bots pick up activity which shows any decline & pre-emptive action happens. Bless their hearts they want to look after you

This is exactly what has led to my 7-year account being on the ropes. I had a non-stealth linked account which went from above standard to below standard 24 hours after my monthly evaluation. When I called to ask why I was told it was pre-emptive as they had noticed a decline (the prevoius month the acc was top rated).

This account was then closed by Ebay as the following week my "closed cases without seller resolution" went to 0.31% and I was told in no way could I appeal this even though the customer emailed me to say he did not want the item delivered and even left me a positive feedback.

They have now linked the newly closed account to my 7 year old current account and so far I have had a month of limitations and restrictions.

I think this is what I'm facing. Yes, I called back today. I got all the way up to the "supervisor" and asked why I had "guard rails" at 100% positive feedback. She was FURIOUS that I knew that term and demanded to know which agent told me because it is not something they are allowed to discuss.

alphaversa 05-12-2013 08:16 PM

Also, the entire time I was speaking to this "supervisor" I could hear another voice in the back ground coaching her.

alphaversa 05-12-2013 08:17 PM

FURTHERMORE, I am banned from being able to talk to Trust & Safety. They literally will not talk to me. Some calls the agent doesn't see the notes on my account and puts me through and I am just routed back once T&S sees who I am. Such a strange way to treat someone with 100% positive feedback...

Consistent with what I got told.

I've been over the recent T&S changes for both USA & UK.... for the life of me I can not pinpoint anything.

The thread I referred to got pulled down quickly.

I'm still blown away by the fact all this is happening to me when I have a 100% positive feedback rating. The fact that your feedback rating is SO HIGH that a few neutral feedbacks is considered a "massive drop" in customer satisfaction is folly beyond imagination.

Oh, and the neutral feedbacks were ALL from buyers who did NOT read the listing terms before bidding. I was told that that didn't matter. Only the buyers "opinions" mattered.

GreenBean 05-13-2013 06:54 AM

Hence they created guard rails.

Sit down ( or stay sitting down).....

It's to protect you from yourself.

Appears they have no clue what to do and how to make it either WORK or go away.

Sandy D mentioned the cause ( indirectly). ebay hired consultants to improve itself.

:faint:

Guard rails does get lifted eventually. It's a tricky way of screwing you out of your TRS discount imo.

How many neutrals have you had? Neutrals do affect the DSR ratings...
