To add a bank account or not

http://www.aspkin.com/forums/uk-ebay...dress-not.html

Left with a few questions after reading this thread.
what about if the name is completely different? i've set up a paypal account and sent in ID to confirm name/address/dob etc at my current address. the only thing i haven't gone is added a bank account, as i don't want to waste it if they decide to limit/close the account straight away. thoughts?

To verify you have to attach a bank account

yeah, i know i have to add a bank account. i made the account, sent in ID (genuine passport & "genuine" council tax letter) and now they want me to add the bank account.
i'm quite happy to do this if they come back saying everything is tickety-boo. but seeing as i've already been banned (under a different name) at this address, will it pass their checks?

it's a completely different name that has passed their ID checks.

i just don't want to waste a bank account when i could just make up a random name and use an address that is definitely safe.

So the banned address passed the check and you just need to put in a bank account. Well - in your place - I would not have used the address but now that its done, might as well see how the bank account goes - not too hard to get an account.

The thing with pp is that nothing is 100% - only time and OPERATIONS will tell how the account survives. All the best

Attach the bank account.

Get this account going.

Keep rsot's advice in mind as you sell. Avoid trusting paypal.

For future accounts, to avoid this kind of iffy situation - get a new unused address (As best possible)

i've just added the bank and verified that with the 4 digit number. then i uploaded the ID to lift the limits and it was done within 5 minutes. i'm going to leave the selling part for a bit and just use it to buy stuff for the moment.

@derbydave, that is a good move - I have done that with buying then selling to build credibility on the account

Smart!

Patience can build a solid account for down the road.

Alright!!!!

Slow and steady is the method.

Aim for the future

well it's going hunky-dory at the moment. i have sold a couple of things, but i'm keeping listings to a minimum and not trying too hard. i'm building feedback up by buying stuff, as this is the only account where i can actually do that. i'm staying away from 99p and digital/virtual goods.

let's hope my semi-stealth account lasts for a while longer!

Slow and steady.

Let the baby stealths grow naturally.

Hope it lasts long time without issues - you seem to understand the issues to deal with.

Another plus for hard working efforts
