Has ebay improved its systems? Can they link from ip addess now?
 

Hi guys.

From what I read ebay is improving its software all the time and I purchased ebay stealth some 3 years ago now and it has always worked for me.

However I have moved on from juggling 3 or 4 accounts now not wanting the risk and all the hassle of the various ways in which they can shut you down.

I now sell high end items like farm machinary on one ebay account.

However sometimes I get nervous that bids simply are not high enough and I put in a bid usually by using a second computer or by logging in to a separate user account.

I do not make a habit of this, IE its not regular but I do it now and again.

My question is that the cookies will not be an issue but have they improved systems to identify behaviour associated with the ip address?

What are your thoughts?

Of course they are linking you by IP. Its the most basic and easiest way for them to link

They have been able to do this for many years.

One of the very first things they used early on to ID the user.

Like Slim stated this is basic stuff and no heavy duty software is needed.

I own several websites and can see who was on my website from my control panel alone.

Good one Sandy D - so true you can track who visits your websites by the IP. That being said, user accounts + fresh IP + keeping cookies in place is a good combo for eB operations.
