| | | markflood | 06-18-2013 06:25 PM | 2 accounts: Same IP, different addresses. Will they be linked? I have two accounts on different window id, on the computer, I use different ip for each one, but today, i was careless because i was sleepy, ID NUMBER 2 the ip i went to ID NUMBER 1 account, I went to ebay.com and tried to sign in ID NUMBER 1 but I put the wrong password, and I notice I was on ID NUMBER 2 IP address and was pose to have a different ip., I didn't sign in to ebay because of wrong password, but i notice my mistake , i log out of windows.
I didn't sign in to ebay, because i put the wrong pass did they link my ip? I am too late, you think |
| JamesNorth101 | 06-18-2013 06:32 PM | As a one off, should be fine, but only time will really tell. Sounds like you have just put the wrong password into the wrong account. Far from the worst thing that could happen. Being on account 1 using account 2's IP will case a link, but only a minor one again, should be fine so long as it remains as a one off. |
| markflood | 06-18-2013 06:42 PM | I was using the ip of 2nd account into the first account (I thought I was on the 2nd account but i was on the first, I didn't sign in but because i put the wrong password, i didn't get to log in, (I use different windows account to make everything separate)
Its far from the worst thing that could happening, but i didn't sign in, i just this worried because people can get link just viewing email from ebay using yahoo , i use google, and have separate windows account and ips.
Do you think I got link?? but i didn't sign in, i tried to sign in but wrong password.
AM I OKAY? or link |
| markflood | 06-18-2013 07:52 PM | Anything or any ideas? thanks
Could I be link for a failed login attempt because i forgot my password, while still using the same ip by another account by accident, once i realized i log out of windows fast.........and change my ip to the right one, could i be link but i didn't log in, i view ebay though and the login page, but didnt login, (i keep each account on different windows user, to keep the cookies separate (I hope this makes sense) |
| Dmshark25 | 06-19-2013 12:31 AM | Usually making one mistake is not the end, I admitt I have been careless and without thinking have logged into 2 accounts using the same IP immediately realizing the mistake and logging out in a second. It's been over 3 months the accounts are still ok. The important thing is now to be xtra careful and slow down and think before every move. Eventually you will begin to operate the correct way more easily . To say whether u have linked the accounts , well no one can answer this question it's just unknown, but probably not , just no more mistakes |
| jeffweico | 06-19-2013 12:56 AM | I doubt that this alone will do it, but if one account goes down, the other one might too. |
1 time is unlikely to destroy your operations - do not repeat. |
| Athletichunta | 06-19-2013 01:42 PM | Ive done this twice on accident. I didn't get a link |

Just worried I had this account over a year, no problems with any listings going down due copyright or vero, i have over 700 item limit and other has over 200 item limit a month, so this are my bread and butter.
I put a system in place to not only double check but to triple check like crossing the street, If I accidentally login one time will i get link , if one account goes down, both will...?? Am I okay if a did a failed login with different ip of another account? what is worse logining in or failed login,
Thanks for your responses, i can sleep better |

Take steps to avoid - even 2 times maybe not but no more risks - not even worth analyzing...avoid. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 01:38 PM. | |
