Paypal plugin - any advantage over the PayPal debit MasterCard?

The title says it all. Could Paypal plugin be used to generate a card in order to extract payment from a limited account?

ebayhateluv 07-15-2008 01:13 AM

HI: Ive read about it before--there was someone about 2 months ago that did this.
I personally have never tried it..
Let us know your experience..

zymo 07-15-2008 01:52 AM

One time several months ago I tried this, Plugin was disabled when limited.

GreenBean 07-15-2008 02:02 AM

Yeah. Once paypal is limited, all you can do is cry and wait the 180 days for the money.
Ain't found a way around it yet and not for want of trying. LOL.

Exeneva 07-15-2008 07:21 AM

I had used plugin to generate a card before the limitation occurred. It is a multiple-use card.

GreenBean 07-15-2008 07:25 AM

I understand. BUT once paypal limits the account all 'extras' including the plug-in are gone.

Exeneva 07-15-2008 06:09 PM

So even if you created a multiple-use plugin card a month ago, it would immediately become inactive after your Paypal account has been limited?

GreenBean 07-15-2008 06:22 PM

Yes. paypal stops this at once when the account get limited. The account is now 'dead'.

Exeneva 07-15-2008 08:43 PM

Darn. I guess that means I'll have to wait 180 days to get what's left in there.

Paypal plugin - any advantage over the PayPal debit MasterCard?

Hello,

My current scheme involves selling things on eBay, then after I receive the payment, I generate a mastercard using Paypal plugin. On my own website, I have a store of "goods" in which I buy for myself and pay using the Paypal plugin through CCNow.

Has anyone ever tried this? And if anyone has, are there issues with doing this?

PayPal Secure Cards Refunds?

I recently purchased something online using PayPal's Secure Cards. But now I want to return the item to the seller because the seller promised me a refund. Will the seller be able to credit back the amount I paid into my PayPal account even if I used a PayPal Secure Card?

Exeneva 07-26-2008 01:04 AM

My question is mainly whether the method I described above would work, and any thoughts from people who already do it. Is it a viable way to retrieve my money quickly?

Exeneva 07-26-2008 01:43 AM

Modee, if I paid for some tech support, could you teach me those methods? I just want to retrieve my money as quickly as possible.

adl0816 07-26-2008 08:59 PM

Yeah I meant the PayPal plugin, because I don't actually have to apply for a card. So I will be able to get a refund back to my account?

ebayhateluv 07-27-2008 01:56 AM

SO--Maybe this Plug-IN, or Temporary/Virtual Mastercard--is a way to empty the pp acct-as once u get the approval number from pp-
say-using it on your own terminal, or on your own website-then its guaranteed pyt??

BUT_then theres another fee involved--small but a fee..the discount rate for your own terminal..
SO--paypal takes a cut to get the funds from your buyer into your pp acct--NOW-u have another fee to get it to your merch acct-
SO: then, in my opinion--ccnow at 4.99% is the same.. AND- only 1 transaction. 1 swoop + youre money is in the bank..

Exeneva 07-27-2008 12:46 PM

In theory, that's exactly how it should work, EHL. I've been having some issues with it, and I think I have come up with several solutions in order to make it work.

Currently my website only supports my own merchant account, but if you want to try it using your merchant account, just PM and I can help set you up on my website.

ebayhateluv 07-27-2008 12:54 PM

hi: tHANKS, But I have several merch accts--
I usually use the Virtual Terminal in Payment Tech, and I also have a Swipe terminal thats wireless for a Mall Kiosk..

The general idea seems Very Good!

Exeneva 07-27-2008 05:50 PM

Thanks. Please do let us know how it works for you. I'm still trying it out.

Exeneva 07-28-2008 03:47 PM

A bit of my own testing:

I tried CCNow but they seemed to really crack down on me. I ran into a lot of problems with them, especially in the shipping department.

I then signed up for 2CO, and I found it to work extremely well. They seem to run a bit faster than CCNow, they deposit to your bank weekly, and you can sell electronic/digital/downloadable items using them! This completely avoids the hassles I encountered when trying to use CCNow. I like them better than CCNow because CCNow has a monthly service charge if your merchant sales do not reach $100 per month. 2CO only charges a $50 one-time sign up fee which you can pay using Paypal, and their rates are slightly lower than CCNow's. 2CO seems the way to go for doing this.

If I have a merchant account and my paypal account is not limited, but is brand new, how much will i be able to buy with pp plugin paying to my merchant account?, maybe no more than $500?

Withdrawing Payments from Paypal Using Plug-In

I was just wondering if anyone has tried using the Paypal plug-in to withdraw payments directly to cash using other money transfer services or gift cards?

I mean for example, using the PP plugin MC number to send payments to yourself instantly online using those famous services, that I don't want to name here in case eBay/PP spies are reading (contact me if you want specific names) or to send payments online to giftcards like Simon or other prepaid cards, either virtual or actual plastic which you can withdraw at ATM?

Because after my last PP account was unfairly limited, and then subsequently my 4 1/2 year old legitimate PP account was also limited, I have been looking for a way to withdraw PP payments, so I can get the money to open a business bank account which I can then use for my merchant account(s).

So I was planning to have the auction listings have the PP payments sent to a different email address than the one listed/registered with eBay, and then I would hold off on registering that email address with Paypal until after the payments are received. Then once its received, I'd set up the paypal account, add the prepaid card, and then use the plug-in to send a payment to myself either by buying online a prepaid gift-card, like Simon, or by using one of the famous money transfer services that eBay/PP always cautions against. Then I'd be able to withdraw the money instantly either using that services ATM/debit card, or by going to a service point and picking it up.

What do you all think of this?

Exeneva 01-27-2009 01:30 PM

It's not like it's going to matter by listing the names of places where you can withdraw.

Paypal won't suddenly stop plugin from working with Google Checkout or Plimus or any other place because they're too popular and it would cause a lot of complaints.

I use this method to get my money out all the time. $1000 a day is a good deal!

the80skidcloset 03-07-2009 03:39 PM

Actually I wasn't referring to GC or Plimus.

I was wondering how/if the PP plug-in would work with sending money online through Western Union, or MoneyGram or similar services, so that I could withdraw my paypal payments to cash, to have money until I can get my merchant account/shopping cart/cartmanager set up.

Does anyone know the requirements to get the plug-in? I mean, do you need to give SSN, or anything else (bank acct#, etc) to be able to use the plug-in??

Lyda 03-07-2009 04:15 PM

Someone said here you can take out 1000 daily with plug in no problem, even if you have 500 limitation in place.
