VCC questions from newbie
 

Hey im new to this forum, and my account was just banned. can you please tell me what a paypal vcc is and what it is used for. And what a ebay vcc is used for? I need to make a ebay account and a paypal account but i need it to be linked to my bank so i get paid, im not sure if im understanding this but i would appreciate it if you could help me.

VCC is a Virtual Credit Card. It is used to confirm your eBay, PayPal or Amazon accounts. They can be bought from sellers here in the Marketplace section.

Bank accounts you need to get yourself. But the bank account can be in your name - it does NOT have to match the name on your PayPal account. You just need a bank that will not care about the mismatched names. Search the forums, there are several choices.

NEVER use a credit card number or bank account more than once. If you use the same bank account number on more than one account, they will be linked.

Never use a real plastic card because it would fail the AVS check

You use your bank account to verfiy your paypal account.

You must get a new bank account for your new stealth account. That is crucial. When you read thro' the forum, you will find bank accounts that allow mistmatched names.

You use a VCC to confirm paypal and lift limits.

Your info for both ebay & paypal must be the same.

You can attach your paypal account to your ebay. That stops the need for a vcc.

GB is right on with the explanation. Only thing worth recommending is that if you DO attach the pp...try to pay your eB fees in advance with a VCC/credit card so that eB does NOT try to dip into your pp to take money...can cause problems.

Which Vcc's should i purchase? Is there a specific type, and which ones do i need to make a successful ebay and paypal also how much should be on the card?

Hi, sorry to bump an old thread, but parts in here seemed relevant to me.

I've always just got a new bank account, made a new paypal with that bank and linked the ebay to that paypal. Never used a VCC.

Can someone please tell me the advantages of using a VCC over the method I've been using?

Also someone said about paying fees in advance with a VCC to stop ebay dipping in to your paypal to pay for the fees. Why exactly is this beneficial and why would it cause problems if ebay get the fees from my paypal?

A VCC confirms your address. It reduces the associated risk your account presents to Paypal.

I pay all my ebay fees from Paypal balance. As far as I am concerned it is not a problem. Potential problems arise if you have no funds in the Paypal and money is taken from your bank account as Paypal will then be able to see the real name on the bank account.
