Return address on ebay printed labels

I have numerous ebay stealth accounts.....what I would like to do is when Im in the usps screen change the return address to another actual address that is really mine like a ups box or virtual address......does this flag ebay? or paypal?

Dmshark25 08-16-2013 03:02 AM

Yes whatever data is placed inside ebaypaypal then consider it recorded.

If you use same address across multiple accounts they will all be linked

If you don't have access to your return address then you can always put labels with your address over the printed address

The best solution is to get an addresss you can access.

Bunneh 08-16-2013 05:07 AM

LOL yep stickers are my friend too :p

Glad we dont have so many issues in the UK at the post office like you poor folks in the US.

rsot 08-16-2013 06:09 AM

Yes changing it on the platform can link the accounts.

Use manual stickers on the label - write it up/print it up.

A needed step to stay stealth - dont be lazy and change address to SAME address - different or adjusted address could be ok.

Flags you big time.

Risky so that's a :nono:

Using separate labels is a good idea that was given by previous posters.

Another method, which I use, is stamps.com. When you're ready to ship, you can modify your labels there to whatever return address you want.

vogeltron 08-16-2013 02:51 PM

Yea, I just use a black sharpie to black out he return address. While the stickers are ok, I am too cheap. Just print out pages with my return address cut em out and tape em over.

I am agree with everyone else I would not change my address on eBay so they can see.

helpmelol 08-17-2013 07:27 PM

I just print return address on the label..

Like this;

---

From / Retour:
My address

You do this off EB/PP shipping?

LoopHole 08-19-2013 06:09 PM

Can't you just cut out the address from the label and ship it without a return address? I've shipped things before without writing the sender address. Just put a return address inside the package?

Also w/e you decide to do make sure your post office is cool with it. Depending on what shipping you use prices vary from sender location. Post office might look into that. It has happened before.

Was just about to create a new thread, glad I searched. Just got my first sale with a stealth account but was nervous about editing the ship label inside of PP.

Just used a adhesive label and wrote my address on it, genius!

Re: Return address on ebay printed labels

I also use a shipping service that imports my orders. But I am too paranoid.. I don't import. I manually write the address labels then type them into my shipping services. I add the return address I want and its ready to go.

Re: Return address on ebay printed labels

So if you write your return address on a label over the stealth address, the buyer won't see the difference in your ebay account?

rsot 12-11-2013 01:42 PM

Re: Return address on ebay printed labels

Many buyers will overlook this if 1) the item is good and they are happy or 2) if they need to return, the seller makes it a nice simple process....it's all about appearance and professionalism

Of course they will but eBay will not which is the most important thing. As rsot said if you are professional and respond fast it shouldn't be an issue. If they disagree because of this and escalate the case well then that's just part of the game.

Much more professional way is to enclose a return address label in the package with a note saying this is the depot return address.

Great idea Greenie, I was looking for an option like this one.

Re: Return address on ebay printed labels

That is a very good idea just a personal preference that I don't like to mention the word return at all or even give them any incentive to do it. Too many impulse buyers who spend what they don't have (buyers remorse) and we all know eBay nearly always sides with the buyer!

They usually don't have your address. On your listing unless you change it they can see the city you put as item location and the name they paid through PayPal. I have yet to have anyone ask but that is why I have some mail boxes registered under business names. I just use those as the address. The black out the stealth one and tape good BIZ addy I have access to under. If anyone ever asks which they haven't. Would just say they handle my shipping, or that is a secure return address that handles all our shipping or whatever. WTF do they really care anyways as long as they get their product.

Also the other member is right. You basically just don't want eBay/PP to see the address.

Re: Return address on ebay printed labels

Just don't mention the return address. It only encourages returns. If they sent it signed for (presuming it is a large parcel) and the recipient wasn't able to sign for it it would simply be returned to the sender

Re: Return address on ebay printed labels

That might just encourage returns or even might encourage some buyers to return a rock to you. Not saying it will always happen but it could. Theres always Pros and Cons to every situation.
