Tethering Not Working Well

I have T-Mobile and I keep getting the same IP addresses when tethering. I have to wait sometimes well over an hour to get a new one. I have a HMA subscription but this is a no no according to everyone. Rebooting my modem and running a release renew sequence rarely produces a new IP.

Any suggestions or guidance? I guess there is always the dial up route but I wouldn't even know where to find someone offering that around here!

Have you tried changing the MAC address of your router? There are certain parameters that you need to stick to (I think no letters above E).

Did you use airplane mode and leave off for 30 seconds and then turn back on?

I assume you are using phone tethering?

If so use PDA net.

Does it work better than the stock Android tethering? I ask because I do not get charged for tethering.

Avoid tmobile for stealth. You rarely get a new ip. I have tmobile and tethering was just a big fail for me.

Invest in a 4g dongle from virgin mobile or verizon.

I have a hidden wifi in my condo powered by Virgin Mobile just for stealth.
