| corleone | 10-29-2013 04:20 PM | Re: how do you beat the new mc999? It started October 1st. Create a new account, they don't do them on all accounts. |
| Dmshark25 | 10-29-2013 05:10 PM | Re: how do you beat the new mc999? Now instead of u just calling in and answering simple questions which they make u do with tgis new one, I was hit several days ago on a new account , but now when the info doesn't match up u could have an automatic limit reduction 0/0 limits and the only way is to send an ID to the ebay vetting department
Does not happen on all new accounts as Corleone stated |

| redfoamy | 10-29-2013 08:43 PM | Re: how do you beat the new mc999? This has happened to me today...Use actual addresses not estimated. Put it on a Google Map and see where the little arrow falls. Make sure it doesn't fall in the middle of a intersection or on the roadway on the corner of the house or business etc. That is where I believe I was flagged at. Just a thought.... |

the bad stuff...is why we jump thru the hoops we do. |

| Dmshark25 | 10-29-2013 11:58 PM | Re: how do you beat the new mc999? This just started the beginning of this month so it's probably just extra security during the holiday season but I don't think they will keep this up in the new year
I as others had to wait on hold to be transfered to trust and safety , for over an hour , so they are overloaded with this and everything else I doubt they could keep this up
It's probably more of a random thing, to try and keep potential fraudulent sellers of taking advantage of the holiday season.
Lots of orders will be for gifts and purchases weeks ahead of time so bad seller could get away with a lot and by the time Xmas is around and the packages opened the sellers are long gone |
| redfoamy | 10-30-2013 08:51 AM | Re: how do you beat the new mc999? That is also a possibility glacier922...I'm saying make sure your t's are crossed & your i's are dotted and you are ready for anything at this time of year. Right now there is more factors going into this.
I was sent to an eBay rep in Asia who was having a hard time with my information and who wanted to call me back the next day. The same rep did call me the next day back 2 hours earlier then we had planned then transferred me right back to someone in the states. I was on a wild goose chase.
Stay calm Become the new account. You will beat it. |

| Brainbuster | 11-01-2013 08:35 PM | Re: how do you beat the new mc999? Yeah, I just called them about raising my selling limits on my over 2 month old stealth acct.
T&S asked me many questions whose answers I had never given them (multiple choice). The middle 2 numbers of my SS, a name I have used before, which of the following counties have I owned or rented property, etc.
Didn't help (or maybe it did help, because I kept asking him/her to repeat because he/she was cutting in and out) that it was either a bad connection, or maybe it's my $5 tracfone, so I could barely understand what he/she was saying.
I took an educated guess on everything. Even changed my answers to a couple of the questions after the questions were repeated.
Failed the test, so they didn't raise my limits according to my request,
but they did raise them a little bit, and told me I could retake the test in the future. |

This is why it is preferable to not call in....
You flagged your account because of not being able to supply the right info.
Try to allow the account to grow on its own merits.
Be careful.
Good Luck

The middle 2 numbers of my SS, | What a question - definitely should not have called in but you are lucky that you were NOT asked for documentation. |
| Brainbuster | 11-02-2013 09:34 PM | Re: how do you beat the new mc999? Thank you for your replies.
Would you have know I should not have called in before I told you the outcome?
I thought I remembered reading (I think it was in this forum, maybe it was just on Ebay's forum) that if you want your limits raised, "it can't hurt to just call in and request it. It's a simple phone call."
Of course I know in retrospect that I shouldn't have called (although they did double the number of items I can sell, so that's good). |

:peace: | So you mean the limits will rise on their own, in time, without my calling in? |

As long as you do everything well I do not see why not?
They take account by account and it is never the same.
Hey, its ebay... |

Just a thought.... | I don't think this has much to do with the MC999 criteria. I've always used addresses I find on real estate sale websites from my city. Didn't have problems before. Last week I opened 4 new accounts and 3 got the MC999 WITHOUT me ever trying to sell anything yet. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 06:00 PM. | |
