2 Ebay accounts per paypal to dilute hits?
 

Ok, not sure where to put this. I read the stealth book, and there was one part where it says the benefits of having 2 ebay accounts to one paypal would help you out because if 1 takes a strike, you can kind of move on to the second account. This was on page 24 of the stealth book. I am thinking what about selling limits and category limits? For example, one ebay account has 10 selling limits, and the other has 10 selling limits, and that counts as 20. Doesn't Ebay not like this? Same with category limits. If I can only sell 5 times on one category, wouldn't ebay not like it if I sell on the other account, because it says not to create another account and do it, or you would be punished? What about selling 11 or 12 items between the 2 accounts, but you only have a maximum of 10 per account? Wouldn't you get punished by Ebay for that?

The stealth guide was written at a time before selling limits were imposed on Ebay accounts. You are absolutely correct regarding the selling limits on the accounts. There is a good chance limits would be split between the two.

When I first started creating stealth accounts 4.5 years ago, I set up several that had two Ebays (even three Ebays) to one paypal. These accounts have no limits on any of them and all are still going strong today.

Despite this, I wouldn't create any more multiple ebays to one paypal as Ebay might view it as an attempt to circumvent selling limits and take action.

When were the limits placed? The stealth book was published in 2012. Was it within the last year? Thanks.

I was referring to the original guide. Think you may be referring to the update. Limits were put on accounts starting around late 2009, I believe.

My accounts created in July / August 2009 still have no limits.

Irrespective of dates, I would still stand by what I said. The best format by far is to keep the ratio at 1:1.

I wonder what aspkin's intention was in the 2012 edition. Maybe he overlooked this problem? Or maybe it was specifically to dodge a minor hit, not a serious one, but I guess a minor strike isn't going to carry over to the second account. Of course those category limits and serious strikes are going to carry over. This is all a guess of course.

But you're right. 1:1 is probably the best thing. I might just test a pair to see what happens though.

Just don't sell the same items at the same time on the two accounts.

I have experimented with many eBs to 1 pp. Besides the fact that if one goes down, all the others are at risk, with regards to sales limit, few things CAN happen:

Limits can remain the same.
Limits can be SPLIT amongst the accounts.
Limits can be REDUCED for all accounts (risk possible issue)

Just laying out the risks about limits.

Rsot, can you please elaborate? When limits remain the same, do you mean that if we have 10 per acct, we get 20?

I guess that we can tell if there might be a problem is when there is one warning message, especially a category limit.

Limits remaining same is if one account has 10, the other will get 10. But, as I stated, limits could be split lik 5 and 5....or worse.

Oh and making more LINKED accounts to bypass a category limit could lead to problems because that is a VIOLATION of eB policy...
