IP doesn't change after restarting router
 

Hello, I use OPTIMUM online as my Internet service provider and after reading the stealth guide , the easiest way to change ip seemed like unplugging the router. I did that waited 2-3 minutes but i am still getting the same ip.

The router is netgear.

What could be the problem?

You need to unplug the MODEM not the router...are these 2 boxes separate?

hey rsot,
after you said I realized there are two different boxes. at first I unpluged the modem and then replug it didint change.

then I unpluged it at night and see if it would change in the morning. guess what It did change. but i realized it would be too much time consuming to wait a night in order to change the ip so i purchased a virgin mobile usb dongle at walmart.
