PayPal account was limited for 1st time
 

This is the very first time I've had a stealth PayPal limited so I'm a little unsure of what to do. Luckily the money I had in there was already transferred to my bank account last week. And the last transaction I had was a month ago.

Anyway, below is what I have to "resolve":

It's the exact same page you'd get when you hover over 'Profile' then go to 'Edit or Add Bank Account"....I don't get what they want me to do because both are confirmed. So my only other option seems to be Provide a copy of bank statement, which I'm guessing should be super easy if I simply change the name & address of my real one?

Otherwise, my alternative option would be to provide Photo ID. I think I know someone who could help with this.

Anyways, where do you suggest I start with this? Will choosing a "alternative option" make my case weaker and perhaps won't be enough to un-limit my account?

I have same problem ,My VBA IS META BANK ,I Have over 10 paypal accounts limited today. Is your VBA META BANK ? ,Seems paypal radar is scaning meta vba

Yeah I have metabank for 5 of my stealth accounts

I've only been using 1 of those accounts recently (the other 4 I haven't used in a while). I'm not sure why my other ones haven't been limited. Hopefully they don't :(

That 1 which got limited today actually has MetaBank verified account AND an RBC account verified (I transfer my money to this one)...

It has long been known that Metabank equals a guaranteed limited paypal. It has been said dozens of times on this forum.

I actually consider this a "mellow" limitation on pp as you only got 2 of the requirements. Draw up some docs and attach them and you should be good to go :) Also, you can use an AVS VCC to verify location. (AVS stands for address verification system which verifies billing address on credit card) you can get on on the forum here...

The # registered with the PayPal account? Or will I have an option to enter a tel. number alongside the info for the AVS VCC?

It seems like it's not a hard limitation fax in the documents and you should be good

I just find one seller who provide AVS Vcc, do you get one really good AVS Vcc for Canada? I will try this seller's vcc for my CA account within 1--2 days, will keep post here.

I just have some experience confirm location in my US's account. after add AVS vcc successfully, they will try to call you by your registered telephone number, you will have chance to use one new number, I use G-voice number, they can't verify that number, finally have to use mail letter to confirm my location, I have expected that confirm location process will fail, I have used the location which is the address of my friend. paypal send code letter, then I confirm it.

now the key point is what telephone number will be valid for CA pp verify pocess. I think the tollfr******* number will be not ok for confirm location. will try it .

Metabank worked fine. Many still have old VBA's attached to their account.

Crap. I really need to get my account going now and I still haven't resolved this. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Anyways...


So for the 'Confirm Location' step...

Once I click continue it gives me an option to add a credit card..Is this where I'd buy an "AVS card" and enter its information?

Then I also have to select an address. The "one that you receive billing statements for this card"...I have a phony address on this Stealth PayPal (a couple of hours away from where I live) Does this matter? Will the AVS Card that I purchase be pre-loaded with matching info to my PayPal account or something?

Sorry I'm confused as to how this would work.

AVS must match the address of paypal account.

That's the reason for that type of card.

So when I buy this AVS (it's a credit card, right?) I'll have an option to enter an address for it? aka the one that matches with my PayPal. Or perhaps the seller does this?

You ask the seller for the AVS card.

You ask the seller will they add the address for you or simply give you the card for you to add the info.

You can also head to RBC and get a gift credit card from inside the branch - register it to your pp address (Canadian address? Or is it US-based account...)

Crap. So I bought an AVS card from a seller on here.

Went to the resolution center on PayPal to 'Confirm Location', entered the AVS card details fully correct and got this message:

"You have not added a credit card to your account. The Phone Location Confirmation process has been canceled."


Note: This would be the 1st time adding a credit card to this Stealth account I believe. Perhaps, do I have to go to Profile > Add/Edit Credit Card > Link Card? and find out the 4 digit code shown on the billing statement?

This is a Canadian registered PayPal by the way...
